Have any SS owners looked into this yet?
A polished weld?
I think thats me. I went an saw him in november but never went back.I emailed Peter from Meerkat regarding a decat solution for the SS.
He said that he doesn't have a bike like that but if somebody could swing by and let him take a look, he might actually do it. Now it's quite hard for me as I live in Sweden and he's in Australia. If anybody can, here is his address. I would be thankful if you could also report back to this thread.
I don’t have access to a scrambler to do the development if your on the Triumph Rat forum, send someone my way , Gympie ,South East Queensland, Australia.
Thanks.
The BC headers make that stock silencer have a harsh metallic tapping sound that wasn't there with the stock headers. I prefer the before sound, personally.
I'm not sure what you mean by metallic tapping. It's essentially just raspier, I don't think any different than what I've heard from Free Spirits, but it was an alternative. Different look and few dollars cheaper. The BC headers make that stock silencer have a harsh metallic tapping sound that wasn't there with the stock headers. I prefer the before sound, personally.
Can you put the optional OEM slip ons still with that BC header in place?
Did this happen. Are we going to get an alternate decat?Ok, update on update
Just got off the phone to Peter Meerkat and my street scrambler is going up there on 8th of April after he returns from a break
We dont know what we will do or whats possible yet as he hasn't had his hands on one to suss it so yes i am the Guinea pig.

Did you try it with the stock pipes? That vance hines is pretty loud with the cat.,I would advise strongly against getting the TEC de-cat. I bought one and fitted it with my Vance & Hines (new version) pipe. It had a horrible, tinny cathedral style echo when under hard throttle climbing the range. The standard pipe sounds a lot better. The TEC manifold was louder but completely ruined the sound of the bike.
Premium price, budget results.
I took it off after one ride, and now I can't send it back to JCS Motorcycles because it's been used... I have a $495 piece of useless scrap metal here now.
I'll take it up with fair trading before I try TEC directly (I don't think I should have to go to TEC, it doesn't work as described).
Maybe it's the big empty can and the other H pipe variants wouldn't ruin the sound. I'll stick with stock myself...
