You're the worst. Ordered. Now I just gotta sell my Free Spirits decat for my Street Scrambler.

If anyone is interested, PM me. New cost - 360 + shipping. will sell for $275 shipped anywhere in the US.
Haha, you wont regret it, for me its completely changed the character of the bike, now it sounds proper! Goes well too...

TBO, when I asked the dealership to consider changing maps I had expected them to say no, sorry we cant fit the 'off road' ST map. Especially after posts here saying that Triumph had put an end to it. Instead I got, "We managed to find a compromise map, its not meant for this exact model, but works'. It works!

i'll have to check in with my local dealership regarding the remap if possible. one dealership couldn't manage, but maybe another might.
Indeed, there does seem to be a bit of contention with this system when trying to fit to the SS. The dealership from whom I got a good discount on the system were not prepared for me to travel and have them fit it and they were not at all certain it would fit not having done one previously. (I knew it did fit as I'd seen one fitted to Dutch's SS at the Bike Shed in Shoreditch, in fact he was he who pointed me it the direction of this system,
) Thanks Dutch!

It wasn't until I contacted the dealership that fitted the exhaust to Dutch's bike that I finally got an ok to go ahead with fitting it (Jack Lilly Ashford FWIW). The fact that officially its a ST accessory doesn't help as some dealers are not willing to take the risk should things not work or fit properly. Having said that some dealers are more custom mod friendly than others (Jack Lilly included) so I expect most should find an obliging dealer eventually.

My issue is that i took mine in for a remap (and was present at the time) and they kept getting an ABS module conflict and couldn't do it. I inquired to another Triumph dealer and they researched it and said they should be able to do it no problem, but then I've been sort of busy piling miles on my Thruxton R, and the wife has been on the Scrambler that I haven't gotten back to it, but instead make a ton of changes to the Scrambler. (ordered dresser bars and black intakes) as well as sold the Corbin and put on a T120 bench seat, swapped on stock Thruxton R front and rear turn signals, LED headlight bulb upgrades on both bikes, and then a front turn signal relocate on the Scrambler with a headlight grille. It's full on Scrambler now, instead of half Scrambler/half Cafe.

Once I get this new exhaust on and install the backordered kosso apollo heated grips for it, i'll finally take it in and see if they can remap it.

Fair enough, although to be honest I find the heat shield in this system significantly better that the one on the stock setup. The end can itself barely gets more than nicely warm in my experience, perhaps try one out before you decide, just to see how hot it actually gets back there?
The stock rear sheild is massive compared to this one which is what i was referring to and in no way is a leg burn threat. The pipe i dont know but theres a post here somewhere suggesting that its hotter than stock but not really an issue.
Either way braaap to wake the neighbours is always fun

It (V&H High level) certainly 'looks' less capable, but in practice appears more effective IMO, there is a more pronounced angle mid way to the V&H system, which may help with air flow and therefore assist cooling.

No catalytic converter on the V&H full system means appreciably less heat.
Yeah i was thinking the same. However it has been posted on here by another user that the passenger has noticed an increased heat on the pipe as the shield is smaller and thinner so the pipe is closer to their leg. Not really a problem but for me all it takes is my kid to be sloppy getfing on or off to contact the pipe to be a concern. But thats me.
When my son sat on it his calf was inline with the back of the shield.
Its even sold as solo use but it i think thats just over cautionary.

Davey, because of the way the V&H high level exhaust is mounted and designed is does stick out more, even for the rider. For me at least though it has been cooler over stock, with the stock unit in traffic and jeans on you had to keep you leg off the pipe when stationary or crawling along. With the V&H this hasnt happened, something which as above I largely attribute to the cat removal. Obviously I dont sit at the back so cant comment there, but happy to test and report back.

Good to know. Stock does get warm at traffic and like delta said the cat removal probably helps it run cooler. Makes sense to me.
Anyway enjoy the free flow and lovely braaap u now have. I'll continue to sit on my hands and ponder what ifs haha. Just bought a car and mini bike for the boy so no coin for dad [emoji17]

Just went out for a nice little run. After a while of enthusiastic riding I pulled over, removed gloves and touched the exhaust bare handed. The whole heat shield was fine, I was easily able to touch the heat shield along its length, at the rear on top of the end can, where there is no heat shield it was also fine. However, in the unprotected part under the rear end can adjacent to where it mounts to the rear suspension, it was too hot to touch. As a pillion it would be near to the inner part of the right boot/ankle area. Probably fine if your wearing motorcycle boots and protective clothing but perhaps too hot if not for a small one.

Hope this helps

Good work. If it wasn't a kid in my equation i wouldnt be bothered but hes burnt himself twice on my sr and the pipe is swing arm height so...
I may talk to a muffler man about a bigger shield, still not out of the picture.
Thanks for the research... Having a blat is good research [emoji2]

My girlfriend has spent some time on the back with both stock exhaust and the high level pipes and she says it isn’t any hotter really, it just rides a bit higher because of its mounting system. Either way, the shielding on the high level pipe is not quite as good and in the end heat shielding in itself is only so good and it would still be uncomfortable/slightly dangerous on bare skin.

Installed my V&H "Scrambler" exhaust today. I did note that it has rear peg delete finishers so it's intended to be for solo riding as to not burn off legs. Tone is quite drastically different than my decat + debaffled stock mufflers with the 2-1, and as volume is nearly equal with the dB Killer removed.

I'm happy with the change, but my Thruxton now is the weakest sounding one of the two still with stock debaffled exhaust, and cat still in place.

I reckon the scrambler should be more obnoxious than the thruxton . The thruxy to me suits a more mature sexy baritone and the scrambler is the annoying little bro that's begging to be heard.
Braaap on the scrambler Issac Hayes on the TTR
Either way u go what a killer predicament to be in 2 classy bikes.
