So had the Tank off again today, Made a new Vac line from Ecu to Airbox, But still have the Cutting out issue when blipped Hot or Cold.

Receipt from 2019 mileage 29,600 / Mileage currently 30,200

New Temp Sensor fitted, New plugs, New Idle control valve "stepper motor" and throttle body balance.

Also had prior to that a New Lambda sensor at 26,000

Bike is definitely running rich, I'm now thinking the Map isn't compatible with the Aftermarket exhaust, Looks like a trip to Triumph :(

So I’m probably bugging you lot lol, but I traced the previous owner as I think it’s a map issue. He has the original exhaust! So I’m collecting that tomorrow evening. It’s had a map put on by a local motorcycle shop he said he didn’t think it’s correct! And it’s mapped for 95 ton fuel I’ve been using 97. Fingers crossed .

So source the original exhaust from the previous owner! Fitted if tonight, syphoned the 97 Ron fuel out replaced with 95, Went for a short ride. Bike has more torque and smoother at low rpm but she can still be encouraged to cut out stationary by blipping the throttle. The throttle body flaps are a little stiff wen shutting closed the last bit there take a second to close. Spoke to previous owner he says it sounds like the stepper Motor again, he replaced this only 600 miles ago from now!

Had enough , booked it into a Local Bike shop to see what they come up with.
I did 100 miles this morning, Runs great on the run, still hear it farting through the exhaust but the engine seems tobe smoother at highway speed.

25mph 2nd gear its not as jerking with the Oe exhaust on, seems to have more torque.

BUT! When stationary and you blip the throttle she wants to cut out and you can Smell the fuel so she's deffo running to rich.

Throttle body cleaned
New iridium NGK plugs
Injector cleaner
New Air filter
Oil and filter
Vac lines check
New Vac line ecu to airbox
New Stepper motor 400 miles ago!
New Temp Sensor 400 miles ago!
Fuel changed to 95 ron on advice from previous owner

On the run she the temp gauge read 77-78, getting upto 83 on a Fast run/working the engine. Traffic see's it in the 90's then the fan cuts in not sure if 77-78 crushing is normal??

Any ideas? cus im stumped? Wishing id have bought a Jap now :(

Take up Speed4Boy's offer and load 10181. Don't alter anything or use any of the custom maps that use 10181 as a base, just load the standard unmolested factory version.

BTW a few posts back you asked where the MAP sensor was. I'm guessing you've twigged it's in the ECU itself, that's why there's a tube going to it from the airbox which you say you replaced.

Right got the TuneEcu disc and cable, the TuneEcu wont read the ecu it gets to 40% on the 1st try and then times out?? so i cant read the ecu table.

ECU name is 10181 (10152) shortly after it i think.

If i start the engine it will read and display the rpm coolant temp etc, there are no error codes either. :(
 
TuneECU is really fussy about healthy voltage on the laptop and the bike. Pull the headlight fuse out of the bike and hook it up to a battery tender if you have one then try again. It sounds like it's already loaded with 10181 though.
 
Okay, now save that to your laptop just in case you have to go back to it. Call it 'Merc85 original map' or something. Then go to the TuneECU website, get hold of the stock 10181 map from the OEM listings and download it to your ECU.

This is just a process of elimination as once you've done that you can see if the problem persists. If it does then you'll know it's not the map and will have to keep troubleshooting.

So ive saved the original MAP

Then i tried to do a dry run without connection bike to see if i could load the new map into the table.

It says 10181NEW "thats what i saved it as" Warning ! unsupported map or file is Corrupt ?

What is the issue?
