Okay...I've got the sidecar attached to my 08 bonnie t100. When solo usually down to a 2-3 but with sidecar figure should go up a bit. Anyone else have ideas as to what feels best when lugging a tub?

I'm hoping to get into sidecar riding, but don't have any experience yet, so I can't offer you good advice I'm afraid. I would say going higher on the spring tension makes sense.

I hope you will show us some pics of your rig - I like sidecar outfits.

Photo of the bonnie/sidecar rig

Here is a photo of the rig. Still need to attach the wires to the turn signals and brake light. Also attaching a rear trunk since I don't have saddlebags for the bike. Nigel (the dog) likes his ride.

It is a euro cozy. I had it on my '06 RE Electra. Took it off the RE and put on the Bonnie. Needed more power. Besides the dog likes his ears to flap in the wind with his doggles on.

I'll put up more photos when I get the rest of the bike/rig finished.

Trying decipher your message... are you asking for suspension recommendations?

If so, I run Progressive Suspension's 440 series shocks (heavy duty springs) on the back and their dual rate fork springs/15w fork oil/Thruxton preload adjusters up front.

This set up offers a lot of easy flexibility to adjust preload front and rear, for the different needs between running with or without the hack.

The stock suspension is woeful right out of the box... add a hack and you've pushed it well past its limits... a suspension upgrade, to me anyway, is a "must do" for the bike alone... with the added weight and stresses of a hack... mandatory in my book...

The bonus of upgrading is that you get the benefit of a more comfortable, compliant and planted ride whether ride on two wheels or three...
