I'm wondering if it would be an easy swap to put the larger T100/T120 Fuel Tank on the Street Twin?

Anyone here know?

Speed and petrol (gasoline) are tied together. The faster one go's the faster they both go.. :grin2:

I'm really happy to report that my bike is averaging 65 mpg (that's 54 on your smaller gallons). The big tank of the T100 gives me an easy 200 mile range, never really tried finding the limit - pushing 500lb motorcycles along the road with empty fuel tanks is a job for a much younger man.

well i average 62 mpg on my st which is an easy 180 before fill up , this includes hard acceleration the occasional ton up runs and highway at 70 to 80mph , if you need to get that extra half gallon of fuel mileage out of it you could just baby it alittle more , when i ride with a local scooter club and we do side roads easy acceleration and tops speeds 50 to 60 mph i,m amazed that i average 75 to 80 mpg on those outings. so thats easy 220 miles before fill up ,
If you need that peace of mind that you wont run out, I,d get one of those MSR fuel bottles and strap it in the leather carry harness , fits nice along side the seat and makes a cool accessory.Ofcourse if you have money to spare , go for it.

If I ordered the tank at the time of purchase it's likely my dealer would sell the tank to me at cost like they did parts/accessories for my last Triumph I bought from them in order to seal the deal.

A half gallon is just enough for it to be worthwhile to me, barely.

I use the MSR bottle setup on my dual sport and it's an annoying way to barely extend your range. Although, it has saved my bacon on and off-road more than once (as well as other riders in the group).

hey everyone

Do you guys swap the tank at the dealers? And will they do this without any issues? Or do you have to purchase another fuel tank?

The extra fuel capacity sure comes in handy when travelling. I really like the look of the larger fuel tank on the bobber - almost temps me into buying one...................

Street Twin/Cup/Scrambler/T100/Bobber all share the same tank, so you can freely swap between all of those. @TriRocket3 would have to share what crazy stuff they might have had to do.
Great point there.

I did it to my blobber, you don't know till you try.
Was it a simple, straight over swap, without any extras or modifications, or was more work and things needing to be changed involved?
