Hi all, I still have no update on the TFT display. My bike is currently at the Triumph dealership who have confirmed that it needs a new screen at a cost of £1051 pounds! They are also not willing to help towards the cost in any way so I’ve emailed Triumph UK but guess what…. They aren’t getting back to me.

Seems like this is a really common problem after speaking with the mechanics at a couple of dealerships but although Triumph agrees to help some people it is clearly not everyone.

I believe that this is a manufacturing defect and as such should be replaced by Triumph UK regardless of the warranty status and with a more robust unit. I don’t fault Triumph for having this issue arise but you can tell the quality of an organisation by how they respond to the problem, clearly Triumph are pushing it back onto the consumer which is hugely disappointing especially with the costs involved and the potential for it to reoccur.

In order to get any traction for not only myself but all the other people who have or are going to have this problem (if you have a TFT screen it’s likely to affect you are some point) I’d like to put together a record of everyone who has had this issue, the time/dates and the outcome so that I can go to Triumph UK and lay out the facts of why this should have been a recall and argue that the part in question just isn’t of a reasonable quality.

We need you! If you have been affected by this (even if Triumph covered the cost) please could you IM me the details and your email and let’s see if we can get Triumph UK to do the right thing for it’s consumers.

Spread the word too so that Triumph can’t ignore the issue.

Thanks
Andrew

Add another one to the list. 2017 street triple RS. Dash not turning on, no lights, no horn, no starter. Blowing 10a fuse every time the battery is connected.
Owned from new. Contacted Staffordshire Triumph to see if they can help.

When did the failure occur? Was anything done to the bike prior like a battery replacement or a wash? Or did it just seem to be a random failure after normal use?

Some time this week. Nothing was done before the failure. The bike hasn't been ridden for a year or so because of illness. It's been kept in a garage on a trickle charger the whole time. I went to do one of my regular startups and... Nothing. Just the fuel pump whirring.

Went to investigate it today, found the blown fuse. Disconnected the battery, replaced the fuse, reconnected the battery - it blew the fuse again immediately.

Just had a call back from Staffordshire Triumph. They said Triumph will likely reject any goodwill claim as Triumph haven't serviced the bike since 2018. (Been getting it done at a local garage since then).
Apart from that, they have said they can have a look at the bike to diagnose the issue.
I'm going to take another look at it myself again too, unplug everything else on that fuse and check if it is that dash that blows it.

Have a 2017 R with this issue. Local dealer says they can only code a new dash to the ecu. How has anyone managed to get a second hand dash working? And has anyone resolved the issue without a new/replacement dash.
Autotronics say they can fix the old one but as the only ref on here said they found nothing wrong, I suspect that's a dead end.

I had a text from Autotronics yesterday to say the engineer had finished working on mine and that they would contact me if the repair was unsuccessful, otherwise they would just send it back. Well it's been nearly 24 hours and they haven't contacted me yet, so 🤞 they were able to fix mine.

As an additional note: I had a text off them last week to ask if they could cut the unit open to access the PCB and they would then reseal it to protect it against the weather.

That's progress. Wondering if you had a better engineer than me. Will chase for details on what they tried. The unit was definitely opened up and sealed back up. Some good news I tried the Rs clocks again and they light up OK if bolted in. It must need it for earth. But still won't start, so plan to ring a few dealers see if they can code a 2nd hand dash to a different bike.

New to the forum, and had the exact issue on st RS 2018, took the dash to a local electronics repair shop with no luck… waiting on a replacement from eBay with broken glass, and at least salvage that from mine… anyone thinks there’s hope of a class action? Or something that force them to a recall? View attachment 812138
Can you tel the LCD part number, or post a picture with the numbers? In ALiexpress or Ebay, the seller dont show.. Maybe we can find onother replacemente with low cost! And tell whats the pins to turn on on teh table with 12v power.. Here in Brazil, my Tiger 800 XCA 2020 has the same problem. The value in dealer to fix is 1/5 of the motorcycle value!! My bike has 11500 KM.. Disapointed!! No SUN, no Rain.. only garage..
