Hi i bought a street twin recently, although i really love the bike as many i found the seat height just a bit low as i am six foot, i am not very keen on the bench seat option so I have just fitted a T120 seat , a fifteen minute job, its just a case of raising the seat latch, with penny washers about 3 or 4 mm and lowering the rear mudguard the same with some large rubber washers, then the seat fits perfectly, the extra height makes all the difference, only trouble is as on the bench seat you can see the wiring each side above the side panels, will try and work something out to cover them up.hope this helps others who fancy that extra height

Thanks for posting up this info. Its something I was hoping to try at the dealers one day.

Can I have a little more detail as to why the mudguard needs lowering?
I ask this is I have read somewhere, and its not necessarily for this seat conversion, but there is some plastic protrusions that can be cut away to make it fit as normal.

Thanks
Paul

Hi paul
I had to lower the seat because the seat is a bit deeper and touches the guard at the back also a couple of washers under the two rear mounting screws is better than cutting things away I think. and the small amount you have to drop it is really not noticeable.
Thanks
Dave.

Damn, you have a good eye! Just me making something more custom with left over parts. I don't bring it up because it's a self done mod, it requires some dremeling of plastic shroud to fit the radius of the T120 seat. But here it is mounted to the stock fender. I also once mounted it with the stock Thruxton fender but the length of the fender was not to my liking. Here's some mock up/progress pictures and then the final product. The grease pencil marks are me trying to find the right radius to cut, etc.

I have. My 2016 street twin seat will fit my 2018 T120 with no modifications. It does snap in place a little tightly and can take a little jiggling to get it loose once the seat key is turned but no problems. As expected the standover height is reduced a bit compared to the stock T120 seat. The look is a bit ‘off’. Just doesn’t look quite right, but the comfort is very good. The street twin seat provides a wider platform, but doesn’t have the front to rear position flexibility that the T120 seat affords. I’m fortunate in that my butt likes both the T120 seat and the street twin seat, and I regularly do 6+hour rides. If looks aren’t a big concern and you can stand a little bit lower standover height, a street twin seat on your T120 just might be the ticket.

I like to do the same. Can use the leg room and I like the look of the white piping.
Is the wiring above the side panels visible because you raised the seat by putting washers under the latch?

Do you think an upholster could easily remove a bit of padding from the under edge of the seat to make it unnecessary to raise the latch?

hey @roadscum did you end up making the change ? I'm tall (1,87m) and looking into swapping my stock ST seat for the T120. Any info/feedback is welcome.
