Can a Triumph Dealer just enable Cruise Control? Or does it have to be done with TuneEcu?
Im so close to pulling the trigger on attempting this. My biggest hang up right now is that I don't have an android OS device. It would be nice to be able to play around with TuneECU for a bit and make sure that is working before I start splicing wires and drilling holes in the switch gear.
Apparently there is a way to basically emulate and run android apps on a windows pc, Im currently still trying to get that running.
They won't enable CC on your homemade installation for liability reasons. Best to get a cheap android phone

Yes, thanks to tahtye, I was able to get my cruise control working just fine. As CruiserBrah commented, I found it pretty easy to purchase a $30 Android phone from StraightTalk. It did not require activation and was cheaper and of better quality than the cheapest tablet options. It was nerve wracking to reprogram the engine control unit but worked the first time.

Before I knew that the tie-in would be in the headlight bucket, I purchased some waterproof t-taps from digikey. In hindsight, some self-vulcanizing tape and solder would have fit the space better, but these t-taps looked pretty cool and I wanted to give them a try. Having spent decades as a marine scientist and making waterproof connections for marine applications, I'm a little neurotic about water intrusion. These are similar to the cheap taps, except for finer connections and a waterproof (water resistant) gasket.
