Hi Phil,
learning is that products nowadays are at best a compromise in terms of quality and control...regardless of who manufactures the items...
Not at all ... there is still quality-no-compromise out there; e.g. a few weeks ago I bought a new high-output oil pump for each of my T160's - they cost very considerably more than a Hepolite :ROFLMAO: but, given "Hepolite" is now Wassell, the chances of me trusting the very life of any engine I own to a Wassell part are about as likely as me getting a night of passion with Taylor Swift.

Similarly, LFH can do good quality, but it isn't like they aren't acquainted with a few bits of crap (nowhere near as many as Wassell). Otoh, I've never heard of a bad Morgo plunger pump?

Hth?

Regards,

Stuart...not in the cards...but if the 'silver backs' [those with the experience, often learned the hard way] on this forum and TTalk would start a thread listing the current manufacturers and brands of quality parts for vintage bikes it would be a huge service to those of us who have not "been there and done that"....

[by the way say hi to Taylor from me....:sneaky:]

OK....I did ask....my only experience there was in Wales...and those names I could never pronounce...will look up River Exe...thanks! [Did give it a look...beautiful, love that estuary].

Exmouth was founded at least 1000 years ago as a small religious group where the River Exe meets the open sea. Later on, there were battles between land owners Clinton, on one side of the river and Courtneys on the other side. One castle is still owned by the Courtneys known as Powderham on the Starcross side. Later on, Exmouth was considered to be a place where city people could recover after illnesses so would come here for a few Months as the sea air was clean.
Admiral Nelsons wife lived here and buried locally.
Always been a good sea fishing area but that is failing now due to lower numbers of fish. Some fishermen have begun mussel farms in the river. One of the fastest flowing Estuaries in the UK on a high tide.
I was born here and moved about 500 yards from the house i was born in. Never lived outside of Exmouth. Many watersports here with World Champions in kite surfing and sailboards born here. There is also an Exmouth in Australia with a similar beach.
Very popular place in the 1950s for factory workers to spend 2 weeks on the beach coming down by train from Northern Cities

Thanks Rambo.....our history here is dated in centuries not millenniums.....cool to know of the past, very rich history there indeed.....my stepmom was a Scot transplanted to Oz and yes, a lot of names went with those settling there....always guessed my family was 'settled' in Botany Bay...
