I have a Scottoiler vSystem in hand for my 2010 EFI Bonneville. I don't mean to drudge up a beaten horse, but I've been poring through the various Scottoiler installation threads here on the forum, and am finding a plethora of conflicting facts, opinions, and methods. I'm hoping someone can clear up some of these contradictions, and bring me up to date on the latest conclusions.
I've noticed that there is (was?) some discrepancy regarding the correctness of the instructions from Scottoiler. I'm not sure when that discrepancy took place, or if it was resolved yet. I just downloaded my instructions yesterday ... do I still have instructions that are contentious, or have they been "corrected" at this point in time?
Here's what I gather so far from all of these previous threads:
1. Triumph doesn't recommend Scottoiler on EFI because it can mess up stuff.
2. Scottoiler recommends tapping into a spigot on the LHS throttle body, noting that anywhere else can mess up stuff.
3. Some people complain that that the recommended vacuum connection has no vacuum, and use the RHS instead.
4. Scottoiler, and other people, claim that the recommended vacuum connection does have vacuum, but not at idle, or less than about 3000RPM.
My conclusion is that the Scottoiler instructions are fine, and that the recommended LHS vacuum connection does not mess with EFI (addressing Triumph's concern), and does in fact pull oil at 3000+ RPM (addressing the "no vacuum" concern).
Can anyone verify or debunk this summary reading of the threads here?
Thank you,
