Hello! Name is Greg. Been riding for about 10 years. Last October I came across a 1998 T509 that I fell in love with…but sadly know little about. Always had a fondness for Triumphs, but hadn’t owned one until now. She’s solid, with the typical older bike mysteries surrounding her. From what I’ve read, it looks like I’m in the right place to unravel some of the mystery.

Up until recently she was Roulette Green, but over the winter started the process of painting her. Hope to have her back together soon, I’ll post pics when done (and sorry to anyone who is a fan of Roulette Green …I didn’t buy her because of the color! ;)

Before tearing down for paint …she ran well but not without some issues. Mainly a high idle that I believe is a vacuum leak. My assumption leading to that is the various hoses either missing or ones that are there terminating to nothing!? I’ll address this and a few other quirks in the proper forums.

Looking forward to an amazing riding season on my new-to-me T509! Thanks in advance for the support.

best regards, GregM
