Hey all...

I need to repaint the front fairings on my RS, because the prior owner added green flames over the Lucifer Orange... Needless to say it is as bad as it sounds.

I was searching the web for paint codes and found the paint code for the Lucifer Orange on Triumph's website.

Then I read somewhere that it came in 2 shades? One that looked much more gold in the sun? Is that true? I also found the following 2 different paint codes:

F 7035k
Lucifer Orange
Pint Formula

850j - 54.3
805j - 55.1
1005s - 83.3
1006s - 85.9
150k - 333.7
175k - 446.3

Like the others, this is in DuPont Chromabase

Or

Lucifer Orange Paint manufactuer: Pearl Color code: L2501 ED (as listed on the website)

What worries me is that the first owner scratched the fairings and thus repainted them and added the flames. In the sun, the repaint is much different from the stock. It does have an golden glow to it. I just assumed that it was overspray. But maybe it was the wrong orange?

My friend does body work and said that he would use the analyzer to get it close, but he said that with all the pearl it would be difficult. Plus with 9 year old paint..

Anyone repaint the Lucifer Orange? How was it in comparison? Do you know the code or the manufacturer?

Triumph has an official paint code page here:

Keep in mind that your paint may have faded in the sun. The code guarantees a match to what rolled out of the factory, not necessarily to what you have now....

Ditto Dave M.
Took mine to the paint shop too after dropping it in the garage (Yikes!).
They matched it perfectly and the fairing was repaired and repainted for 140.00.

They told me the alternative would be that they would have to order the oem paint through a Triumph dealer and that would cost several hundred dollars more.

I am thrilled with the results.

Hey guys,

Those of you that say you had a painter match your paint perfectly, was that on Lucifer Orange pannels, or another color?

The Lucifer Orange is a 3 stage paint. A base orange color, then a perl with orange metalic. The closest DuPont code my local paint experts came close to using the DuPont scanner, was a GM Sunburst Orange color...

Of all the google images I pulled of it, none of them looked like Lucifer Orange to me...
