Hub bearing????? take a look at it......................

Sprockets, F /R tight????

COULD be cush drive, but doesn't sound like it........................

 

A dragging rear brake caliper will make its carrier bracket move and maybe clunk on the guide pins.

 

Wouldn't this overheat within miles, and possibly slow down the Bike????? ( pads on expanded disc??)

 

Sprockets are tight. If it was the hub bearing...wouldn't it still make the noise when the bike is on the center stand? Same thing with the brake...it only seems to make the noise when tire is moved under the weight of the bike or the weight of the rider & bike.

 

Drag link bearing?????, suspension noise????

 

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Starting to believe its something to do with the cush drive. I put it in gear and rocked it back and forth...it sounded awful. I have an '09 to compare it against. I'll let you know what they come back with.

 

You can remove sprocket carrier and check/repack cush drive rubbers quite easily yourself...............

 

It is very easy to pull the rear end apart. As long as you have the socket it is a matter of an hour or so to redo the whole thing, providing the bearings are intact.

 

Took it to the shop. They broke everything down. Bearings, brakes and chain/sprocket look fine. They cannot figure it out either. They asked me to leave it one more day. 4 people looking at it, 3 of us are bike mechanics, two specialize in Triumph service. Greasy fingers scratching our noggins.
