Lost key: There is a number on the fork lock key, is this a key code? Same as ignition key code?

Not sure but I doubt it.
Looking at my not yet used spare ignition key and only fork lock key set, neither key has a number stamped. There are two tags on the ring with 4 digit stamped numbers that I thought were the codes for the keys.
