Got my Hydroform slip-on today. Couldnt believe how light it is and the workmanship is spot on. I got a free 'race' baffle as well as the road baffle which is a bonus!

Heres pretty much everything that came in the (small) box

Image

The 2 baffles, the race one is straight through larger pipe, the road one is blocked on the inner end so is very restricted.

Here is a rough idea of the three configurations, with no baffle the can is straight through.

And finally the can itself, very sleek and very light! The end cap doesnt look very strong as it is wafer thin but thats just me being picky.

Cant wait to fit it, I am awaiting my new spindle for my paddock stand as the one I have is for the Hypermotard. I refuse to work on a bike on its side stand.

A GREAT choice!

I recently fitted mine:

But, the only problem I have is that the pipe has been hand inscribed with the words "only parts for race" in a very conspicuous area.

I contacted HP Corse and it seems that this is a North American requirement ... Ampz, does yours have this same inscription?

It produces a beautiful sound but pops quite a lot under deceleration. I haven't re-mapped yet and I believe that the Arrow low-boy is the closest compatible tune to use.

The problem with the few full systems available, is they have a larger tube diameter. If you don't make changes on the front end as well, it's going to hurt you. Putting the low-mounts on also have a negative effect on pulse tuning and scavenging. The stock header/collector was designed for a long mid-pipe. I'm talking mid-ranges where most of us run 99% of the time. Unlike some other bikes, simply "uncorking" the 1050 is a complete shot in the dark, and obviously sometimes you give up some.

Undoubtedly though, the low mounts do go down the road well in the looks dept. now you need a satin finish on the header to match!

I have had the HP Corse fitted with the DBK for some time now and have the arrow slip on map loaded. As I am still running with standard headers with the cat this was the closest option and it works very well, sounds fantastic without being offensive and has a lovely burble on the overrun.

It also saves about 10KG over the standard set up which also works for me.

Got mine direct from Italy via ebay and mine does not have the nasty engraving on it.

Giant plus: weight saving, feels like a new bike

Low mounts on he 1050 are bloody loud; particularly minimalist cans like the HP/Leo/CW etc. my third gear deceleration is almost embarrassing! Bang pop bang etc

Glad I don't live stateside where folks would probably start shooting back

Fitted this today, was very easy and the fit was great. Without the baffles its LOUD, I didnt try the baffles as I was too excited! Only went for a short ride so will need to spend a bit longer riding it to see if its affected power anywhere, felt fine on a gentle town bimble. Most noticeable is the weight reduction...the bike feels totally different. I am not sure it handles better (to me) just feels easier/lighter to haul around.

Here she is...

I was not a fan of this pipe when it was first introduced .
I have to say it is growing on me . Very Nice good Sir.
Thank you very muchly Dear Chap!

On anther topic , Where did you get that fender extender ? I did not even see it till it was noted above . Just what I want .
I found the extender on Ebay, there are quite a few available from various suppliers to suit your location. Mine wasnt a perfect fit, but is unnoticeable when on the bike and it does what is says on the tin...the rads and rad protectors were really getting a battering!

I normally get a plastic one, fill the edges then paint it so it just looks like a larger fender but the carbon blends nicely with the rest of the bike. For the ÂŁ15 GBP I paid I am very happy. :)
