As a land speed racer I fully support the idea that your motorcycle should not be restricted.

However 304 kph or 189 mph on the dyno doesn't mean the bike will run it with a rider and you can pick the place.

The aerodynamics and lack of wind protection on any stock old or new Rocket 3 just isn't set up for those kind of speeds.

I've seen Carpenter built motors get to about 170 mph and Jason Da salvo get mid 175 mph but he was a very tiny man.

By all means remove limiters but about 150 mph it gets very hard to push through the wind with no place to hide.

Did that 10yrs ago with the R3R. If I remember right, at the top of the page on the right side there was a box with the max speed. All I did was change the max speed to 300 and saved, no dramas

Email Alain Fontaine about doing this to the map you are using. I have read that he’ll do it for a fee. Also, join the R3owners.net forum.

 

If somebody is interested in a open map without speed limiter, ping me. I will do it for $15

 

If the new R3 is euro 5 there will likely be more to it than that.

tuneecu has put a new map to achieve this, You need to buy 300euro tuneecu version to unlock speed limiter.

 

Before you spend 300 euros, check with Alain Fontaine.

 

i checked already on their official facebook page, but you can confirm again.

 

Isn't there some kind of a speed/power limiter designed into the Rocket's first 3 gears?
