I just visited another bike site to see what goes on. I know we disagree at times but after looking at this other site I have to say we are much more civil and our disagreements are trivial compared to what I just witnessed.

We are probably one of the most diverse bike sites going....Yes we are Triumph riders of varying models but we are scattered all over the world and yet we still manage to be civil to each other even when we disagree. I just would like to say I am proud to be a fellow Triumph rider and you guys are aces! I mean it....:Chopper

I see that you are unaware of studies also confirming our massive genitalia. I swear that I made a thread about it. Oh well.

Lee, I've always noticed that squid-ish forums are usually populated by one-line posts, usually about denigrating each other. This applies equally to boy racers and the people that South Park recently mocked.

Even ADV gets out of hand, at times. In my experience, both Triumph and BMW forums have been the most (if not entirely) civil bike forums on the internet. Granted, my experience is almost entirely limited to those two, with peeks into boy racer and other squid message boards.

At any rate, I am glad to be here. I douched up a couple of threads, politically, but I'd like to think that I corrected/edited myself soon afterwards (sobering up).

Funny that you should mention Lee. I visited another site today and thought about how few posts, how little discussion was going on and how lame it was over all.

This site has been through heaps of transistion over the past years and has still manged to be one of the most civil (generally) and informative sites that has good information and some very interesting personalities.

TRat.net has still got to be my favourite site. :) Even with the "aces"

Yeah... that's more like it! Some female flamers!:D

On Lee's point, kudos to the Mods for keeping things in order. I think a lot of the civility in the forums is due to a culture of respect and open-mindedness that has taken a long time to build up. People who shout and scream generally get pretty short shrift on here, from both Mods and other members.

Anyway... :bow.

Now excuse me while I turn away and barf...:D

aaaawwww...come on; just one little hug! It's appropriate for our kumbaya thread and we all build campfires. I say campfires because there can be a Bonnie campfire, then a sprint one and a rocket one and a daytona one and so on. We can roast marshmellows then drink the blood of the slaughtered pig and have an inner-tribal war!!! To he11 with peace!!! :flamedude:laughhard

I recently joined the History Channel Forum, thinking that I'd learn a lot from a number of history buffs, amateur historians etc. I got a big shock when I accessed topics that interest me- folks, seemingly with way too much time on their hands, trolling out masses of names, statistics & info (that anyone can download off the web) having raging arguments about their interprtations of historical events. They're not flaming each other; they're torching each other! :flamedude:cannon

I'll never go back there.

I'd much rather access BH-O for discussion on any subject :). Thanks to all who contribute here & to the mods.

If this lot gathered around a campfire, I think the results would be more like this:

Except for our wonderful ladies, of course. :D

And yes, this is a very unique forum. I've learned a lot here. We've done our share of bickering, and I don't think many minds have been changed, but the discussions still have a lot of merit. We're motorcyclists, so we all understand that it's not the destination, it's the journey.

Here's to you all; :beerchug

I refer to massiveattack and quote as follows;

"I see that you are unaware of studies also confirming our massive genitalia. I swear that I made a thread about it. Oh well."

Now - I got both of my triumphs second hand and neither of the previous owners passed on any massive reproductive parts of any description.

Were these items standard with the machines or additional factory extras, do they come in a range of colours to suit owners , are they available for off road and competition use only - I think we should be told. Has anyone dyno tested them with appropriate jet changes if so what were the results?

It was a factory option, but it proved quite unpopular because, of course, you had to replace the stock fuel tank with a much smaller one, with a corresponding reduction in range. That's why there's a significant inverse correlation between mileage per year, and size of genitalia.
[Under 1,500 miles on my Speedmaster this year, ahem.]
