I was just watching a Dick Emery Video on YouTube titled "Bank Holiday"

Seems like he loved to get a few Brit bikes into his skits from time to time. At 1.46 into the video he's on what I reckon is a Norton Commando ? Reg # LOU 430. Later on in another segment he gets on a Unit 650 BSA of some description. Reg # EYU 68J

The paint work on the BSA tank looks factory but I don't recognize it or the model, maybe a Road Rocket ???? Rambo is a BSA guy, maybe he can give us a hint. ?:smile2:

Don't know to what extent he was involved in the bike scene in the UK, maybe our Brit pals would know ?

Also saw him flying his Tiger Moth and seems he had a Cessna at one time as well.

Quite a well rounded and talented guy, and his humor is timeless, pity he's not still around. The world could certainly do with some lightening up. He'd probably get arrested by the do gooders & PC Police now though :grin2:

Along with Eddie Booth and his pals on LTN. And Alf Garnet too.

The first bike is a Norton Commando and they did make it with the orange candy paint. The BSA is a Thunderbolt 1970 model with a 71 registration.Last of that type. There were red tanks like that back in the period, but i reckon that one might be a Lightning tank.
Dick Emery did ride a Honda Goldwing among others as a hobby. One of the best UK acts in the 70s.I especially like his skinhead and Dad sketches.Wort a look at the old videos again.

Dave M : LENNY HENRY !!!! :grin2: Another legend...and you worked with that lot ? How did you concentrate & keep a straight face ?

Rambo: Yeah, sigh, always did & I still REALLY do like chrome tanks,
that fetish for me started with my long gone (sob) 39 VH Red Hunter.

StuartMac: Can't blame the man, I would have too only they were too expensive for me at that time. I settled for an oily rag speed twin instead, what a clunker that was.:frown2:

As a kid a hobby magazine I used to read in the early 70s used to review the latest plastic model kits from Airfix and Revel etc.

Dick Emery was a guest reviewer in the magazine and I remember he built and reviewed a plastic model kit of a CB750 and he had photos of it next to his own 'real' CB750.

It was quite weird because I knew him as a TV comedian and here he was as the resident 'plastic model enthusiast and TV personality'.

I clearly recall him writing about how impressed he was with the accuracy and detail of the model and the only fault he could find was the model had an extra warning light on the instrument panel that wasn't on his own real CB750.

Jonk: Honda 750 model. Yep that adds up, pretty sure I saw him on a 750 with a studded jacket & Nazi Helmet :laugh2:
