Maybe you've seen this before. I hadn't:

Detailed explanation on the BoosterPlug

I was firmly in the camp that thought the booster plug was pure snake oil. It took me until now to get really sick of the throttle lurching that's plagued my 2016 T120 since new. A booster plug arrives tomorrow night. I'll let you know if it helps.

I probably asked you this years ago but does the lurching subside any in rain mode?

I had a 2020 T100 that would lurch/snatch when I opened the throttle at low RPM in first gear. I tried the booster plug but it made no difference whatsoever and Triumph said that it was "normal" to have that lurch. I hope that it works for you, as for me, I sold the bike;

Never had the problem with my 2016 Thruxton, but I ride in sports mode all the time, I also have the Meerkat x-pipe and opened stock mufflers, but a lot put a different tune in their ECU to solve this problem, a lot say the bikes run too lean, myself think that is a load of B S as my mufflers run a good colour, I only let the ECU adapt after the first ride after doing the x-pipe and mufflers and my bike runs pretty good from low to right to the rev limiter without any problems at all and my bike been set up this way since new over 6 years now and 40k on the speedo.
Some say the BP works and a lot say it was a waste of money, each bike will run differently to others and a lot did a simple fix to the throttle grip to solve this problem, maybe because I been riding British bikes for 50 years now and I know how to control my throttle, but as I have said I have never had this problem yet but bikes will lurch if they are going slow and laboring the motor at slow speeds, even my 2013 Thruxton never had this problem.
Well this is my opinion anyway.

Not directly related to the Triumphs , but I had a new 2018 Moto-Guzzi Eldorado 1400 and that bike was absolutely awful at low throttle and rpms, it wouldn't climb my driveway without reving it close to 3000rpm . After about 3 thousand miles I gave in and bought one (booster plug) , it literally transformed the low speed running . I used it for another 5000km , trouble free , before I decided to do a remapping, that was one scary couple of hours
But that worked even better , so I can't say what would be better, but if you're not a total geek, be cautious with the downloads !
And of course let us know what really cured the jerky low speed running

I noticed the jerkiness on my 2018 T120 immediately after I bought it. All the symptoms talked about on this forum. A frustrating PITA. On the recommendation of a Triumph owning friend I installed a booster plug. The jerkiness went away. The throttle response was excellent. When you get the plug, you'll also get a link to a PDF that explains how it works.

Later I put in a Meerkat x-pipe and Sleeper Pros, both of which significantly improved the low end torque and throttle response. The T120 is a real tractor beast now. Lots of fun!

Very encouraging, thanks!

Have to agree with Ashman.
2016 Thruxton R with the same mods. 48,000 kms. No lurching or other engine related issues.
From late 2016 to 2021 I owned a2016 T120. I also now own a 2018 Street Twin. Never experienced the throttle snatching on either one others describe. I always considered
the fueling on both bikes to be trouble free. I did change rear sprocket on T120 to 39 tooth rear shortly after I bought it. That helped low speed acceleration.

Every bike is no doubt different. I installed a booster plug on my 2015 America. The difference was immediate. Snatchy throttle gone, gear changes much smoother. The booster plug is money well spent in my opinion. They are extremely easy to fit, if you know someone who has the same model bike and has one fitted get them to fit it to your bike (10 min tops) and try it.

I installed a booster plug on my T120 but have not yet ridden the bike because of other work I'm doing on it. I've run the bike at idle only. It starts normally with no codes or warning lights. Idle RPM is now 1,200 rather than the 1,000 the bike has had since new. I suppose that this is the "stronger idle" that BP mentions in its promotional description.

I'll report back when I've done a proper test ride. Thanks for your input, and your patience.

I have had this on my bike since last 2 years or so and matched with a Kand N air filter the bike runs solid I suggest upgrade the air filter it deff helps a bit plus u can clean it so its worth the xtra cash its not a throw away filter

The Summer heat has broken here and I'm riding again. I can report that the booster plug appears to work as advertised. My T120 now has a smooth, linear power band regardless of mode, gear, or RPM. Gas mileage seems to be uneffected. Today it was 62.4 MPG in mixed super slab and back roads riding, or about the same as usual. Idle RPM is the normal perfect 1,000.

I certainly had my doubts, but I'm impressed with the Booster Plug!

I'm picking up a 1200XE scrambler today, and have read they don't work on this year's model? Any word on that?

I've used them on two other bikes (CP2 and CP3 Yamaha's) in the recent past and both worked brilliantly, exactly as advertised and made a huge difference. All they do is change the reported temperature to the ECU, so when the ECU makes its fueling corrections in open loop model (low rpm and hard acceleration) it thinks the temp is 10C... Lower? Higher? I forget) and adds more fuel to compensate.

But that's literally all it does - it sits in series with the air intake thermometer and changes the reported temp. You can even see it on the dash with bikes that show outside air temp.

For such a silly simple thing it's phenomenally effective and because it doesn't impact closed loop mode (that doesn't use the air temp sensor, just O2 sensor reported AFR) the bike is unaffected for most of its riding time.
