Anyone running this Battery? My 3 1/2 year old Duracell is on its last legs. I spoke to Antigravity today and the tech states that it would be compatible with my Ricks Electric standard VR and Regulator. 480CC amps and built in Jump starting sounds pretty interesting.

I stuck to a lead acid Yuasa battery for my 08 Bonnie. I also upgraded my regulator to a Ricks Motorsport Mosfet r/r. Plus its on a Deltran battery tender. I had to u/g my r/r the stock one died. Everything is working like a champ in fact better than stock. I don't need all those fancy new age upgrades.
I also noticed that Amazon sells them thru Motomentum. Don't whatever you do buy through Motomentum. They don't stand behind their sales, even when they admitted that they had screwed up.

In a stroke of luck, one of my wholesale distributor's had the battery on sale, so I order one with my stock order. Even at wholesale this battery is expensive. With a retail price of $259.99, this is a mighty pricey battery. I picked up a CTEK c56-926 charger too...$152.13 retail. This stuff aint cheap....I have paid less for a drivable car.

The old battery coming out of the bike is a Batteries and Bulbs Duracell Gold AGM....Current retail is about $135. It weighs 9 lbs 8 oz . It has two positive terminals and two negative terminals. One top mount One side mount on each positive and negative terminal. 180 CCA. This has been a very good battery...it has lasted 4 years. It had a one year warranty.

The new battery is an Antigravity AG-ATX12-HD-RS High Power Lithium Battery w/Re-Start. This is battery is DIFFERENT. It is unbelievably light, you think the case is empty. It weighs THREE POUNDS. This is full case battery, no spacers required. 2 positive Terminals 2 negative Terminals that can accept side or top cable mounts. Finest battery hardware I have ever seen 480 CCA. Three Year Warranty

The Ctek charger is specifically designed for charging LifePo batteries. Easy to follow directions. Includes charger cables with clamps and one for permanent attachment to the battery. The charger end is unique you will not accidentally plug in a battery tender lead/acid connector by mistake. It topped off the new battery in less then two hours.

Installation is the same as any other battery. The moment I hit the starter button the bike roared to life absolutely effortlessly.

I concede that this battery isnt for everyone. I ride in some very remote locations in some hostile environments. The restart feature means I should no longer need to carry a jump box anymore in the saddle bags Its hard to argue with over 1/3 the weight and 3X the power.

Do you know what convinced me to buy this battery? One of my friends has a "Frankenstein" bike. FXE frame, EVO motor. Over 8 years ago I broke his balls for spending $200 for a Lithium battery. That bike stills starts instantly to this day. In Eight Years the Triumph will have been through three premium AGM batteries.

I have a AG 801 on my 865 Bonnie and the same on my 1200 Bobber - plenty powerful on both.

I got one on closeout directly from antigravity for $135. It may have been a slightly different shape or lead sides switched but the specs were the same. I'm conscious of weight and loved the idea of dropping ~8 lbs but to be honest, I didn't notice the difference in weight between the two batteries ridden back to back.

Didn't take long before I noticed slow starting and within two months, it was dead after sitting for a couple of weeks. I thought it was a fluke but less than 3 months from install, it went bad on a road trip; as in, shut the bike off for gas and can't start it again. I had to pop start the bike every. single. time for 2 days. I wasn't too upset at first, QC cant be perfect and these have a great warranty, right? I found a local distributer and called antigravity about the exchange process. The problem is that if it fails, you can't just take it to an Antigravity distributer to swap it out. You have to submit a warranty claim, wait for a shipping label, ship it back and wait for a new one.

I was an 8+ hour ride from home so I bought a lead acid battery and shipped the antigravity back for a refund (minus $18 shipping of course). It would be annoying to have the bike down for up to 2 weeks at home waiting for a replacement battery but this is unacceptable when you need to get home.

I would suggest a brand with a better exchange policy or for a bike only used for day trips.

I understand your frustration. Warranty claims are ultimately the responsibility of the manufacturers, not the retailers. Different manufacturers have different policies. Anti-gravity's warranty and directions are clearly stated on their website. Warranty Info & Downloads.

You did what you had to do, I would have done the same. What I don't get is why didn't you trouble shoot a battery with an issue " Didn't take long before I noticed slow starting and within two months, it was dead after sitting for a couple of weeks."

What prevented you form filing a warranty claim PRIOR to your road trip?

To expand on the slow starting, it wasn't struggling, I just noticed it would start a little slower than the old battery did after a few weeks. The dead battery happened one time after sitting longer than usual, a couple of weeks or so. This was a few weeks before the trip and I didn't notice anything else unusual before I left.

Just trying to make sure people are aware of the specific details of the warranty and how replacement works before spending $200 on a battery. I don't go and read about warranties on battery websites so I didn't know until I was on the phone with a service rep.
