I am working on a 1970 TR6C and it identifies the proper carb as a 930/23. I have 4-5 carb bodies that I collected over the years and none are identified as a 930/23. Was the "23" identified in some fashion or stamped on the carb body?

The 23 may not be stamped on the body. The 930 is a 900 series carbs with a 30mm bore size. The 23 designates which jetting/model bike it was for. My 70 Tiger carb says this on the side:

45
RB 930
26
And the 26 has an XX over them. It was a 26 carb designated for something else but built to go on the TR6R instead.

Per Amal:
"The Specification Number stamped below the three digit number identifies the jetting and the original model of bike the carburetter was fitted to, e.g. 62 below 930, read as 930/62 identifies a 30mm 900 Series carburetter for a 1971-72 BSA B50SS"

So long as it is a 930 I would assume that you'd replace all the jets anyway.
Trusting a barn find carb is a bit hit and miss and even if the jetting happened to be correct, it might be knackered

Back in the day people took carbs off one bike and assumed that they were OK on another " because it is a concentric "

Thanks for the direction. I will need to look at the carb bodies again and see how they are designated under the 930 stamp. I was planning on replacing the jets, etc. when I rebuild. Just wondering about the appropriate body to use.
