A quick question for all you fortunate 1200 S3 owners.

I understood the new 1160 engine in the 1200 had a redline of 11200rpm. Yet when I stood admiring and watching one being started by a guy recently I caught sight of the instrument cluster and was surprised to see a much lower redine on the TFT instrument cluster. Couldn't be sure just what it was so it prompted me to look at a couple of reviews both of which referenced an 11200 rpm redline but the accompanying pictures show only 9500rpm. What am I missing?

The UI is odd yes, I think the limiter is 11,150 yet the UI hints at 11,400-ish. What Triumph said (11150) and what Triumph printed (11400) don't match, and both have been wrong in the past (owner's manual and Triumph statements).

If you look around, you will actually see some pre and post production tach pics, some that top out at 12 and others at 14, iirc. I think the production version is actually 14, as 7 is TDC iirc. You posted the old pre-production UI.

This got me curious, so I just checked mine. The red line runs from 11500 to 14000

You can set your own shift light rpm from the settings menu if you want to, but I don’t think that would change the red line, just the point that the tacho changes colour prompting you to shift.
