Hey guys , there is a guy on YouTube who filmed his cutting out exactly like mine. Look up 2020 triumph street triple 765rs , filmed by funny motoman and at 11mins 30sec the first cut out happens, then 11mins 58sec the second will also cut out. With his bike they replaced ecu, crank case sensor, but the culprit was the stator. This is of great concern to all who own these bikes .
Thanks for the info, it may be caused by a faulty pickup coil which is part of the stator assembly. The problem is it is difficult to diagnose because it happens so randomly. I think I counted about 10 times in 4000 miles and I may have gone 1000 miles without a stall. And it would start up for me right away. If I could get it to stall and then not start it would be easier to see the pickup coil is not putting out any voltage.

I'm wondering if I had this happen the other day with mine.

I was slowing down in 6th gear for a stop sign or something out in the country. I saw the oil light come on and my heart sank (I had just had the crankcase gasket replaced because it was leaking). I pulled off the road and that's when I noticed the engine was dead. It started right up and has been fine since. I just figured I slowed down too much in 6th, but now I'm wondering. The bike had ~2,100 miles (3380 km) on it when it happened.

Not sure if this is applicable, but I noticed when it was "cold" outside (40-50F / 4-10C) and the bike has sat long enough to be truly cold, I have to be careful with the throttle or it'll almost stall until the temperature gauge has got 3 or so bars.

It makes me think there's something with the fueling. Maybe due to EURO5?

I have 3000km. It has already happened 5 times. Last time was when shifting from 4th to 5th gear and it was quite scary because the rear wheel blocked in high speed. I am taking the bike to the dealer to ask for a new one, because this issue is very dangerous and can ends with a terrible crash

Fyi , I had a rep from triumph Australia ring me today as I had sent them an email in regards to the stalling issue. The conversation didn't start to well as he said the stalling problem was only on the earlier models , and I told him well it's happening on the 2020, and I've nearly been rear ended a couple of times and finding it dangerous to ride. The rep told to take the bike in to a dealership and get them to connect the bike to the computer and to then send all information to him so he can see what shows up, as he thinks he knows more than the trained mechanics there. So, the bike will go in to the dealership in the next two weeks as the brake pads for recall should be in by then as well and will see what they find. I'm being persistent on this issue , because others are starting to find they are having the same problem and someone could get seriously hurt. I suggest that anyone having a problem , email triumph and let them know .

I’ve only had my 2020 stall once (previously posted in this thread)
My brake pads are on order for the recall, so I’ll see if I can get my bike checked as well.

Another issue that I've had that could be related is at high RPM the engine would cut out momentarily. It only happened maybe 2 or 3 times. It didn't feel the same as hitting the rev limiter because the power just dropped completely. I had to let off the throttle and then it would come back.

It also had the problem... When I come of gears with clutch... Without (using the blipper) never have a problem...

Also had a problem with normal use on the quickshifter to go from 5 to 6...

Did a track day this weekend and had 0 problems, using the up/down shift, perfect en completly buttersmooth!

And believe me, I ripped the horns of this beast! :p

That is a pretty wear pattern, what psi are you using? I have a track day on Thursday, I normally run 28 front and 27 back using Bridgestone S22 tires. Mine are nearly at the end of their lives so I think I will go down to 26 or even 25 at the rear on Thursday but would be interested to see what pressure you are using.

PSI I dont know... Here in Belgium we use BAR settings... 2.0 in the front and 1.8 at the back... o_O

This was with the stock Pirelli Supercorsa V3's :)

Had my second stall.
Just over 4,000km on the bike now.
It happened in exactly the same place as the first one, finishing commute to work, on a downhill road, clutch in as heading into the bike park in second gear, engine died.

I did think the fueling felt a little off on that particular ride to work. On deceleration there was more engine braking than normal. I may have been imagining that, but I am going to pay more attention to it today.

Mine was serviced Tuesday and the dealer had spoken to Triumph regarding the cutout/stall for me before I arrived. They told him they were aware that some 2020 Street Triples were experiencing this problem and were working on a fix that was imminent. Something to do with fuel being injected on overrun.

Good to know my bike is booked for the 28th for service and recall on brake pads . The information on the ecu will go to some triumph specialist to see if anything shows. The triumph rep got a bit angry when I told him the bike is stalling , but stuff him , bloody wanker.

I left my bike at my dealer in Prague last week. They were very arogant, told me that they had never heard about this problem before. They were not able to solve the problem and they reported it to the factory. Told me that it will be neccesary to send the bike to England, but no detail information were provided. So we agreed on contract canceling, so they give me money back and I will leave them the bike

Very lucky, I've got mine up for sale now, so hopefully I sell it before it goes in for service on the 28th .

How old was the bike? So they took the bike back, and gave your money back?

***, never heard a brand doing this?

I brought it from dealer 1.6.2020. I used the legal way to cancel the contract, they agreed. They accepted my arguments, that the defect is serious so I cannot nomore trust the bike and it can endangere my life. I reported the defect when I took the bike to the first waranty service and today the confessed that when they were riding the test ride, it happened to them too, so they just reboot the quockshifter software and thought that it will be ok. But they did not tell me that it happened to them, just told me to ride and check.

I removed my O2 sensor a few hundred miles ago (eliminator kit from smart moto) and haven't experienced a stall since. I suspect the problem is fuel related and could be fixed with a software update, but I could be wrong. I will report back if I get another stall.
