Hey all,
I just wanted to document the changes I have performed on my '13 Speedmaster for two reasons. First to keep a rolling record of my changes. Second to help out any others who might embark down this path as most of the information I used was scattered around a bit...
List of Changes/Mods:
1. Air Injection removal
2. O2 Sensor removal
3. BC Cocktail Shaker slip-ons
4. Removed air box Snorkel
5. TuneECU remap w/O2 and SAI disabled
1. I used the British Customs Air Injection Removal Kit:
http://www.british-customs.com/triumph-motorcycle-air-injection-removal-kit.html
I ordered this kit along with the Cocktail Shaker slip-ons, one could also acquire the necessary hardware to performs this.
Awesome thread on how to perform this: http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tec...twins-technical-talk/113271-air-injection-be-gone-diy-2009-efi-bonny-thrux.html
Note: I did not need the resistor as I used TuneECU to disable SAI so I did not harm the original wiring connection, just covered it and secured it under
the tank.
2. Purchased two M12x1.25 60mm bolts from local hardware store and cut them down to about 10mm in length, I used the thread length on the O2 sensor
itself as a reference. As I was unable to find any local hardware stores that carried copper crush/seal washers, I salvaged the washers from the O2
sensors (this took a little patience where I used vise grips to secure the washer and just unthreaded it from the sensor). From there I used a little
anti-seize. Once the plugs were installed, I covered the wiring connectors and secured them under the tank with zip ties.
Forum member Forchetto has an excellent post on this topic which is where I got the idea and bolt size, failing to find this post at the moment
3. These were super easy to install, I won't go into much detail but here is a video I watched before hand:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=928pibt64tg
4. This was also trivial, removed the air filter cover from under the seat and just removed the snorkel (still using stock air filter).
5. Now for the most important part, remapping with TuneECU and disabling the SAI and O2 sensors.
Being that I work in the software industry, this stuff comes easy for me but I will give a short description of what was done as I mostly followed the
TuneECU recommendations.

1st, you will need a proper cable, I say proper because I ordered a cheaper one from Amazon that did not work and ended up ordering one from the UK
that was recommended by TuneECU: http://www.lonelec.co.uk/index.php?...ge=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=32&zenid=585a88fe9e949e7ab24d83b99b010360
Mark Duffin has a good youtube video detailing how he created his map, I followed this with the only change being that I used the 20516 no rev limit map.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OLP4sPQrWc
Map: http://tuneecu.com/Tunes_in_Hex_and..._dat/All_Tunes_sorted_by_model/America& Speedmaster/20516_no_speed _limiter.zip
PVM: Use the link in Mark's video comments to get the .pvm file and use TuneECU to merge: http://tuneecu.com/TuneECU_En/mapedit.html
(Look down the page for: Importing a PCIII or PC-V table (PowerCommander 3 or 5))
Once I followed Mark's pattern to create my map, I also unchecked the SAI and O2 Sensor. I saved this map to my local disk. From there I connected and
saved a copy of my original map to my local disk as well. Next I loaded the new map to the ECU. I also used TuneECU to clear any error codes:
http://tuneecu.com/TuneECU_En/mapedit.html (look down the page for: Clear fault codes)
I also reset Adaption as detailed by TuneECU: http://tuneecu.com/TuneECU_En/tasks.html (look down the page for: Reset adaption with TuneECU
In summary, I was able to get my Speedmaster running incredibly well with the above listed changes. I have to say that I am happy with the outcome as the bike
is more responsive and sounds a million times better. Some might argue to loud, but I ride with bluetooth audio
I hope this helps those who want to do similar mods and points them in the right direction. Please reply if you have any questions or comments.
Regards,
MC
