Valve guides with oil seal

I noticed my guides are worn causing blow by and smoke. Good compression though. Did anyone try getting a O'RING to seat like a seal over guide? I'm interested to explore, experiment. Need your expertise. I don't want to rebuild my cyl.head yet.

Hi
Triumph on their later engines (81 onwards) fitted valve guide seals to the inlet valves.
They need a special valve guide with a groove machined in to hold the seal in place.

Kibblewhite make replacement valve guides that are fitted with seals. You need new guides anyway and Kibblewhite are the best quality you can get.
The guides are so tough they really need installing and honing by a professional cylinder head shop.

The problem with an ‘o ring’ is that when the valve opens it gets pushed up the valve stem, then sits away from the guide when it is needed. It might stop some oil from running down the valve stem.
