Hi,
This is Rishab Pradeep from Bangalore India, I ride a 2017 Street Triple RS.
Following are vehicle details -
Year of Manufacturing : 2017
Model : Street Triple RS
Current Odo Reading : 17625 km
Last Serviced at: 13134 km
Was travelling on and off in March and the bike was left idle. One of the days, while I was in town, tried to start to get it running. Turned the key and the DRL came on, tail Lights came on and the Fuel Pump turned on but the vehicle refused to crank. Stuttered by this, checked the battery immediately by taking it to a nearby reputed battery maintenance shop and seemed fine was showing 12.5 V.
We put the vehicle on a flatbed and sent it to the dealership, Keerthi Triumph, the dealership in Bangalore. They kept it for a day or two and got back saying that there is a TFT motherboard failure and needs to be replaced. We got back the vehicle on a flatbed home as the verbal quote for replacing the TFT part was high cost running to about a Lac+. As I study in the UK, and currently in India since the last lockdown in March 2020, was planning to go back to the Uni anytime suitable, thinking that while back in the UK, will check for the ware bouts such situations or trouble in the bike is genuine or a frequent issue; waiting for a turn to open up the travel restriction, got stuck till date and looks feeble of going back till at least end of May.
Wanted to write to Triumph India & Triumph UK a few weeks back, but got busy with Uni work and Covid situations around. I was not able to use my vehicle since then and came to know from various sources and sites that, there are issues cropped up in Triple with TFT in multiple cases worldwide. This being the Third Triumph Vehicle in the house, being in the right place, where my father used to ride a Tiger 800 XCX, he got me a Street Twin 900, and later upgraded from the Street Twin 900 to a Street Tripple RS 765. I am not blaming Triumph or the Dealer, but request the Team to help me out by suggesting the way forward to get a replacement part to make use of the expensive lovely machine which I've acquired with lots of passion.
