Hey guys has anyone been able to compare the oem comfort seat on a Speedmaster 2024 compared to the 'only' brown seat triumph seat they offer? (no idea why they don't make this in black as well...)

1. Which is more comfortable for longer rides?
2. Does the brown seat bring you lower to the ground? is it more narrow?

thanks guys ;)

I have used both and undoubtedly the first one is more comfortable. And slightly wider. I could not assure but probably slightly higher position.

But it seems some people do not adapt themselves nicely to the rear extra cushion in the comfort seat and it's shape comes to be a pain in the ass (literally :ROFLMAO: ) -though I would bet it is somehow related to the beach bars that forces a retarded position, specially with the frequent addition of motone risers, pushing rear your back.

Though none of the best in the world for comfort. They are not bad for regular use, but not very long distance breakers.

What kind of rides do you have in mind?

I put the quilted brown leather seat (the one on the right) on when I first got my bike. (2019 Speedmaster). 15,000 miles later I still love it. It has a firm feel, similar to the European car seats from the ‘70’s. I can ride for hours without any issues other than the need to stretch my legs every now and then. Like good touring bicycle seats which tend to be stiffer rather than soft?

I would add...

I had my seat refurbished by an expert upholsterer, and not simpy best result, but also cheaper than buying a new alternate seat.

I would bet you can find someone that can do a good job opening your actual seat and putting a nice set of foam + viscoelastic + gel + whatever needed, matching the finish and color you want.

Usually by a fraction of what it costs a new seat (making sense on the other side... as it saves the cost of designing and making the base).

This is the seat I used before buying the corbin. It is the result of bringing my original "uncomfort" 2018 seat to one of those upholsterers. He charged me under €200, and I used that seat to frequently make 500+ km stages.

I changed it by the corbin mostly for my wife and because I got a very good offer for a used unit, but I sold this to a german guy who had tried the kilted, and think this is a great improve.

Maybe not as near to your house to be able to bring the seat by hand, but offering a nice service of pick + delivery. Such services are available in all Europe and Asia and I it would make no sense to find something similar if not in your local area, at least in your country.

Just a general thought on this, more as a public service announcement... When I got my Speedy last year, the seat was a big concern. Any ride of more than 45 minutes left me with a bruised tailbone. The fix had nothing to do with the seat. It was two clicks of pre-load. This bike has very little rear suspension travel, so it's very easy to use it up with sag (I'm just over 200lbs). The hammering was the shock hitting maximum compression. It was an instant fix.

Apologies if this isn't news to you, but there are certainly riders out there who don't really grasp pre-load, so it might not come to mind as a factor here.

Yea, plus 1 on that. It makes a significant difference. I found out about it when I first got the bike and was going over everything.
