That's crazy. See if you can get pictures of the damage!
I was asked to not post photos of the damaged parts by my dealership, so my word is bond. What I will say is that I was told I have one of the highest mileage SP3 1200 RS’s out there (10,800 miles) and with all the issues I’ve been having, I may be “path finding” issues. Lucky me! 😂
When I got her home this morning, I put her up on paddock stands and noted that the rear wheel spun in neutral like I’ve never experienced since I bought her last October. May have been a dodgy bearing set from manufacture? Anyway, she’s been fettled and fixed and so glad to have her back.

Mine's a 2023 model (Baja Orange) but I bought it in July 2022 right after it was presented. She has 10563 miles now.
Would you remember what it felt like when you had the back wheel spin freely? Can you describe what we should look for?
Thanks! And happy that you survived this one.

Since the repair and replacement of the eccentric hub, axle, bearings etc there’s very little resistance when turning the rear wheel, up on the paddock stand, in neutral. Previously, before the failure, when lubing the chain for instance, I had to put a decent bit of “shoulder” in when turning the wheel, nothing that made me think the bearings had seized or collapsed, but it’s so much easier now, like I could put a couple of fingers against a spoke and spin, levels of easy (just realised how difficult it is trying to describe this in writing, hope it makes some sense 😂)

Thanks for the explanation. I think im at 6,500 miles but i plan to give that wheel a turn by hand before each ride from now on.

The only recall I see is (2023 and 2022):
Week 6 – Triumph – Speed Triple 1200 RS and Speed Triple 1200 RR. Model years: 2021 – 2023 (Speed Triple 1200 RS) and 2022 – 2023 Speed Triple 1200 RR. The rear brake disc bolt may loosen and obstruct the free movement of the rear wheel. This may lead to a brake failure on the rear disc, creating a risk of an accident. Click here for the original listing.

It remind me the rear roller bearing failure on the 955. The roller guide was made of plastic and was replaced by a bearing w/ a metal guide.

Hello to all, I'm in Canada and I have the 2023 Speed triple 1200RR.
There a few things that had to be worked out with the bike nothing major.
My question is if anyone has changed the signal light on they bike yet? Regardless if it is the RS or the RR I have hyper flash now and the dash goes into this mode to check the signal lights every time I use the signal.
Any idea where is the relay for the signal??
Thanks.

‘22 RS:
I changed my front turn signals to Triumph sequential blinkers. Triumph warned me ahead of time that you must disconnect battery first or hyperflash possible (customer call backs alerted them )
I followed the instructions and no problems. Not sure what you can do now that you’re getting error messages

Morning all,

Bit of background: My previous SP3 1200RS was a bit of a lemon and that drama has been well documented elsewhere on this forum (😂😬) and Triumph upgraded me to a 23 plate RR last month. I’ve just completed the first service, she’s running like an absolute dream… but… One peeve is that every time I switch on the ignition it reverts to road mode (99% time I ride in sports mode) and have to complete a number of button presses to get it back to the mode I left it in. Never had this issue on my RS and have even factory reset the bike to ensure it wasn’t one of my customised suspension settings causing this minor, but annoying peeve. Any clues?

On my Thruxton RS I just made road mode a proper sport mode (using Tune-ECU)so there would be one less fight everytime I through a leg over. That might not work as well for the 1200rr because It might use different abs setting between road and sport. Feel your pain. It will work engine wise anyway. I'm not going to buy anything new from here on out of this becomes a new normal.

Is the suspension or ABS reverting to Road or the engine . Im in sport most of the time also. Using the mode button i switch to sport, then when i restart the bike it usually informs me it starts in Road and asks if i want previous setting(sport) and i have to push the joystick selector to resume in Sport.

It's interessting to hear that installing the flyscreen can mess up something because I did have it installed when I bought the bike. The mechanic has already recalibrated the quickshifter, sadly it didn't solve the problem. They also did a software update, also with no effect.

While riding yesterday, again at the beginning the quickshifter worked for the first 10min or so. Then I had to stop at a red light and when I drove off it didn't work anymore. Seems like the combination of the bike beeing warm (probably the oil because the cooling water was already on temperature) and stopping with the engine running seems to mess up the system.

Anyhow I'm still waiting for Triumph to come up with an answer.

@Buster when the quickshifter works, its very smooth and fast. I hope Triumph gets this sorted because otherwise I really like using it.

@BmoreSpeed what do you meed by the quickshifter not beeing smooth anymore? Do you have the same problems as I do?
i have same problem, what if i will remove quickshifter. will it work properly without it or not? or there will be still some erors?

This isn't an issue but more of a design flaw; regardless of the riding/map mode (even track mode) this bike won't go over 160mph. A little frustrating if you'd put it on a track and this speed limiter kicks in. I ride on express lanes here in south Florida in which the lack of exits and traffic allows for those speeds most of the time and it annoys me, I can't imagine how ppl who uses it for track duty would feel 😑
Anybody with the same experience? or how to disable the limiter?
Thanks
