hey guys,

so i know theres been some threads about this already, but i figured i'd post a new one to revamp the topic!

been considering the idea of building one through the kits offered by metisse motorcycles in the uk. http://www.metisse-motorcycles.com
its an absolute beautiful bike, and looking through the thread counts on here, seems like theres a huge appreciation for it as well.

looking specifically at the mkIII, and wanted to hear from others about their experiences building it, owning one, maybe even posting some images of their metisse now since its been a year or two gap of the last thread. even though I'm looking at the mkIII, would love to see other builds besides the mkIII, they do make a beautiful cafe kit as well.

hoping this will also introduce this bike to new comers of this forum that don't know of the history of this bike and what it even looks like.

and who knows.... maybe one of you guys are wanting to part with your metisse as well haha.

cheers.

If you look up some of my posts of october last year and the previous year. You might find pictures of the Metisse stand at the NEC show in Birmingham. i have also posted pictures of one local to me with some very clever alterations to the build. That one was on posts about the Exe valley, and the Dartmoor runs. July 7th i will be on a run where one or two Rickmans join in so will get pictures of these and other bikes.

ill have a search again, you don't recall the thread titles do you? yea i look forward to seeing your pics up, please do so! curious to know, do you have one yourself or would want to own one?

No, i have never owned a Rickman but like some of the detailing owners do to make a custom bike. The very best i have seen will be at the ride next week possibly. A T140 left change change converted to right hand and with an electric start. I have pictured this one over the last two years of the run. There was also a Japanese 4 cylinder in a Rickman 2 years ago.

I’ve wanted one since the originals came out. The models with their engine intrigue me, but it’s a toss up between them and the Triumph engine models. Would I want the light weight original version or twice the horse power and electric start , along with another hundred pounds ?

do you recall the stats between them for comparison? honestly my research so far has been just into the models with the triumph engines, I've seen the metisse engines but honesty know nothing about them, more about the frames. my interest in them sparked through the profile on chelsea wasp's profile and her rickman's on bikeshed.

I will give this a good lookover when at their trade stand in October. They do show a bike with a prototype engine and it is usually there each year. Wait for the pictures and i will look to see if any electric starts fitted. Next Sunday i should have a pic of at least one 750 Triumph engined one.

that is such a beaut, the amount of polishing and buffing hahaha. i must say I'm a sucker for the battleship grey or the full chrome look for these bikes, and i rarely like chrome, but it works. I'd probably still get the battleship grey though lol.

the only other time I've really dug a chrome finish is on the new norton's

im not too sure on pricing, but you can definitely email them to get a quote, i believe they only sell it as a kit form?? might be wrong, and that'd be a rolling kit with wheels and fairings, but you'll have to sort out the engine, i believe. anyone else know?
