Hi Guys

Has anyone used Aspen 4 fuel for when the bike is laid up for a while to keep the fuel fresh within the tank and system?

Or perhaps can recommend an additive to the existing fuel and run it through.

I was going to drain the tank anyway, but would need to keep some fuel in the lines I guess.

Also would help with preventing the tank bubbling too, for which I was looking for an additive for E10 fuel when running the bike later, so again any recommendations (Wynns etc)

Thanks all!

Seafoam is used to be a pig to source in the UK. Wayne Tripp used to recommend Mercury Powertune over Seafoam but I don't know if it has any fuel stabilising capability, it's available from boat chandlers mainly here.

Edit: should've googled first, seems Seafoam can be bought online over here now. Winner.

This has come up before, but I have used Stabil and it hasn't worked for me, still had to take the carbs apart and clean them out. Where I live the lay up period is generally mid/end of November until beginning of April. Best thing I have found is non-ethanol fuel. I put that in my snow blower before putting it away, it started first pull and ran perfect when I got it out of storage. I know you always have to be skeptical of things on the internet but there are some YouTube videos out there that have tested the main stabilizers out there and not many of them really work. So, if you have access to non-ethanol fuel, that's the best way to go.

Way back I used 2 stroke oil a few ounces to 5 gallons and it seemed to work really well for keeping systems clean and clog free.
I now use MMO a ( Marvel Mystery Oil ] and or Stabil for keeping fuel and I have not had any issues - Always Eth Free premium - Always, as mentioned above!
That's the deal to seal it. Ethanol = ☠

Hi,
unless there is a technical reason not to drain the lines, then I would.
I would drain the carbs or injectorsb and tank and get all,of that fuel out of there.
making sure there is nothing left of the fuel, nice and clean and dry.
If there is no fuel in the system, there is nothing to fester and grow.
In the spring refill with fresh fuel.
Adding all sorts of sh!t to something that is better off out, seems Like madness to me.

Peg

A little oil-based preservation oil is not "****", but you are entitled to an opinion.
As for draining everything - Yes, that should be done for storage, to the carbs and fuel bowls, and it wasn't mentioned. Good point brings that up. As for the fuel tank - If drained the inside had better be covered well with an oil or rust will develop.
