It's just wouldn't be good for Sofi's well being. Think of that poor thing in the Texas heat, likely with goggles on, possibly ear muffs, in some type of a restraint system and stuck in a milk crate. She could be in distress and you wouldn't even know it. Would you want to be subjected to conditions like that? Of course not.

Second... a passenger might see/sense an impending accident and may or may not take defensive action.
A pet can't do that.
I don't know about that - Our dog Sierra, an Alaskan Malamute, used to be able to anticipate corners and lean into the corner to avoid rollovers in the back deck of my little car. 🙃 Except for that one time..... hit a corner real hard and she did a full 360! 😆 Man, I miss that dog. She was the absolute best!

Seriously, leave the dogs off the bikes. For their safety and the riders.

OK, the crate came today, and I got the end removed and the edges de burred and smoothed out. I've experimented with my short bungee cords, and know how I'm going to secure it for easy on, easy off. I'm waiting for the foam pad for the bottom, and then it should be all together. I wish it weren't so darned hot. I don't feel like taking the bike and dog out in 103˚ F. The overnight lows are supposed to get down into the 75˚ F range, so perhaps early morning riding will be doable.

Hey, just to easy your minds, I won't be taking Sofi out if she doesn't seem to love it. I wouldn't force that on her any more than I'd try to force it on another person. I will show her what it's all about, introduce her to it. Then, if she runs to the bike and wants to get on, or jumps on by herself, I'll be taking her with me on occasion. Otherwise, not.

A pet depends daily for survival upon its master. Most pets adore being with their master whenever or wherever they can. If you want to take your pet with you, go ahead, don’t pay no mind other people minding your business.

OK, I've reconsidered. I got all the parts together, and took a look at what it was going to be like if I finished it up. I don't like it. I love my dog, and I would like to have her with me. But, it just doesn't seem like a good idea now that I'm seeing the actual thing. I'll just be leaving her at home unless I'm taking the car. I have a cute little convertible, so I can ride her around in that. Thanks for all the comments. :)
