The chain is probably worn, like noted above but I am also guessing the nut on your front sprocket is loose as well. It happens and there are several threads about that.

I heard that exact clicking noise while pushing around my bike---forwards and backwards---in the garage. I noticed the loose nut when I went to change the sprockets and chain. The clicking noise went away after that. I must say that I'm not entirely certain the loose nut and the resulting play in the sprocket caused the clicking or whether the chain on worn sprockets caused the clicking, or both. Take a look at the nut first. Easy to do.
