Hi all,

Just a quick question - does anyone know if a Triumph Bonneville 2015 would come with an immobiliser as standard?

Thanks.

You could fit some sort of immobiliser by locating the alarm connector under the seat where you'll find a dummy plug containing two wire links. One link completes the circuit for the starter the other the ignition circuits.

Some sort of quality, hidden double pole switch can be wired so that those links can be opened or closed. A bit rough but should work, after all that's basically what the alarm system internal circuitry does to those wire links.

This is what the connector and dummy plug looks like:

Again thanks for that. I'll probably leave as is to be honest. It was for insurance purposes mainly. I already have a ground Anchor, two chains, an alarmed disk lock, datatag and the steering lock so I'm pretty happy with my security. Just thought an immobiliser (if it was already on the bike) might massage my premiums a little lower!

This thread caused me to look up an accessory immobilizer/alarm from Triumph. Like all their stuff, they're proud of it and it's pricey, but it seems to be good kit. See here.

Nothing will protect your bike completely from being stolen, short of locking it in a brick building with stout industrial doors, but ... this looks like it will make it fairly unattractive to a thief looking for low hanging fruit, which is probably 90% as effective as having a custom storage shed built. Probably good value for the money if you are worried about thieves.

I think I will order one.

Hi
It does draw from the battery. My experience is that its ok for a few weeks and bike will still start ok. Note my bike is 2007 carb though !
