Thoughts on this? Never thought it would be something to do. If belt is so great why didn't Triumph use one from the get go?

Wouldn’t bother, chain drive is the most efficient power delivery method

I couldn't open your link, so I don't know what you're looking at but I had a belt on my Harley, 90,000 miles and no maintenance, no issues. I loved it. I hate chains, but I doubt I'd go to the trouble convert the bike.

Belts require less maintenance on the day to day. Sometimes that’s more important to people then the small amount of power potentially lost from the conversion.
