Recently bought a very low kilometre 2015 Scrambler.
I have seen on a British Scrambler owners Youtube clip/review that you can fit VW 'Beetle' exhaust tips in place of the original BIG/HUGE mufflers which give a bit more power and better sound, also removes about 5kgs of weight and its also a very cheap mod so i have already purchased the VW exhaust tips from Ebay ($89).
Will be fitting these this Saturday morning while doing its first ever service.
I will also be fitting a K&N washable air filter when the original filter needs replacing.
Apart from that, what else could be done to release some more power out of my new ride??? :grin2:
While there are many companies that would cater to your needs, the two companies that come to mind are Triumph Twin Power and British Customs. If you need anything for your bike, either of these two would have it.
I just read on TwinPower.com about removing the airbox baffle by removing the r/h side of the airbox and taking a huuuuge baffle out which will gain 10-25% torque and power increase!!!!.
It's 5.30am over here but i'm going out to the shed NOW to start doing this on my 2015 Bonneville aswell before i go to work today. >
I have a Scram from the same year. Can't say enough about TTP mods and a remap. I kept my airbox, but switched to the TTP Breathe kit. Removed the SAI. Put on an Arrow 2-in-1 and remapped with the TTP map for the set up.
Thoughts:
-there was a recent post on the Air Cooled forums where a guy did the VW mod. You can probably find it pretty easily.
-removing the SAI makes a big difference on the bike. No more decel popping. I never minded it until it was gone and I realized how nice it was without it.
-I don't personally see the point in going through all the effort to remove the airbox on the ECU models when you get good power gain just by doing the Breathe kit. It seems to be of much bigger benefit to the carb models, which do well with the pod filters. There's lots of ppl on here that ditched their airbox and are very happy tho, so your call.
-TTP are phenomenal to deal with. They're really helpful, clear in their communication, and you don't feel like an idiot for asking simple questions. Their program that runs the remap makes that part of the process ridiculously easy, too.
-I did the Stage 1 Torque induction kit. I don't race the guts off my bike and she does see some dirt, so I didn't feel the need to go the Stage 2 route. Bike has much nicer power delivery, which is especially nice when wanting to get around idiots on the road. She still tops out around the same speed before I'm holding on for dear life, but she gets there much more readily than before.
-gas mileage seems to have dropped a bit, but not very much under... responsible (speed limit) driving conditions. It definitely takes a dive if I'm riding hellbent for leather (but honestly that's fair...)
