This Brixton "concept" motor cycle popped up at EICMA, and it's the spitting image of the Speed Twin.
Apparently, it has a large capacity water-cooled twin engine - maybe 1200 c.c.
The engine, front and rear mudguards, brakes, radiator, right-side chain, et al, all copy the Speed Twin IMO.
I'm sure Triumph's lawyers will have something to say to Brixton about this.
I've never heard of Brixton, but, looking at their web site, there's a lot of German and the telephone no. indicates Austrian.
Unless any patents or copyrights have been violated, I don't see Triumph doing anything. My view, that doesn't look anything like the Speed Twin other than the overall layout of the bike. The Japanese did it years ago in terms of the look of a British parallel twin. Even BMW is following the Triumph Bobber with it's own NineT Boober. Jump on the band wagon I'd say.
Funny how it goes full circle, Japanese brands enter market segments by copying successful Triumph designs (and others), until market dominance starts to be established and Japanese designs become matured into a style of their very own in the late 80's /90's. Fast forward to the early late 90's and Triumph returns the favour by blatantly rips off Japanese designs in the super-sport /retro bike segments establishing market dominance with the retro market segment. Chinese market emerging now, but a long way to go still perhaps, Nothing wrong with that though, may the best bikes win...
Not sure about winning vs giving us riders the choice and variety of bikes to enjoy. Not all attempts are successful, but the alternative is the extinction of two wheeled rides.
They also have a 'Vitpilen/Svartpilen' lookalike. I think that's more plagiarism than the prototype you're talking about.
A Speed Twin is just a Classic styled motorcycle, as there are many.
