gas tank swap

Hello there, just got a 2018 1200 Speedmaster and am wondering if the gas tank from my 2018 1200 Bonnie will fit on the Speedy? It's about a gallon bigger which I could really use on the Speed. Before I remove both tanks to see I thought I'd ask if anyone might know. Thanks for any help!! Mark

Don’t know but I hope it works. Definitely something I’d consider.

Looking at online parts lists reveals that the Bonneville tank has two bolts at the rear, while the Speedmaster has one, so it wouldn't just bolt on.

An internet seach for bonneville tank on speedmaster / bonneville tank on america turned up quire a lot of info, including youtube videos and threads on this very forum.

Most information does seem to be for older models, though, so that may make a difference.

Bonnie T120 has only one bolt at the back of the tank not two. I believe the earlier Bonnies had two. At least my 2016 has only one bolt.

Forget all that.

As Sharkguy points out, I was thinking of the earlier models and forgetting about the Speedmaster based on the Bobber.
