Wink Street Cup Exhaust Mod

So I own a 2017 Triumph Street Cup (black/silver) and thought it had a nice low rumble UNTIL...I rode my friends 2018 Street Twin. The exhaust note of his Street Twin blew me away. Fast forward a month, my wife just bought the 2019 Street Twin and the exhaust note once again is pure heaven. Low, grumbly and rowdy. After investigating the difference in my slightly hollow sounding Street Cup vs. their low and rowdy exhaust I found that the Street Cup has an internal baffle while the Street Twin does not!!! WHAT???!! How can this be that the "racer" version has the lamer exhaust. Does anyone know if this baffle can be removed? I've heard of people drilling it out which doesn't bode well with the thought it can easily be removed but...can it? Also, has anyone bought a set of E-bay mufflers and mounted them? You know the sub $100 mufflers? Post pics please if you have! I've read that the diameter of the pipe is 39cm or approx. 1 1/2" Can anyone second that?

My other car is a Triumph

Firstly.. The Street Cup.. as lovely as it is, is part of last.. sadly underpowered lot of 900s. The same as my Street scrambler.. Be careful what you change. I performed a decat with cheap straight through headers keeping the stock mufflers and lost a whole heap of power and top end. Sounded awesome tho.. You can get an xpipe for yours which makes a huge difference in sound and frees it up.. if you read some of the threads on here, It gives it a bit more 'pep'. I've learned that gas flow and back pressure are quite an exact science..
Check out TEC tho for decent aftermarket mufflers.. I could be wrong but think they put a bit of effort into them, they do a decent X pipe by all accounts too.
The new '19 street twin is different performance wise with I think.. lightened cranks and modified cams and bells and whistles and probably different fuelling maps and so probably a different exhaust flow.. and an extra 10 or so hp too I believe.. I'm no expert but that 'new' sound could well just be tied in to the '19 models update.

This is my biggest issue with these bikes...a 900cc motorcycle that produces 55hp. What?? I don't miss the power while riding until I get spirited because of the low end grunt (torque) but to think a modern 900 making the power of a not-that-modern 650 is almost inexcusable. Why did I buy this bike? Actually I didn't. It was a birthday gift but I could have had ANY motorcycle and chose this one.

Itís fairly easy to mod the stock cans so long as you have a drill, hole saw, a hammer and long chisel, and a rivet gun to put it back together...

Mine sound great, deep, loud and rowdy... but when TEC sells a set for $299... try to mod, if you mess it up, but the cheap cans from tec and call it a day...

I did not take any, but maybe I will later, plus a video of the sound... keep in mind that I also have the x-pipe installed...
