Lightbulb BONNEVILLE T120 2016 sprocket

Good day all, new to the site and hope my post goes somewhere ? Trying to gear down my 2016 Bonnie but can't seem to locate a 39T rear sprocket. I thought someone posted somewhere a Thruxton would fit ? Any help would be much appreciated . Thanks.

I once complained about my boots ,until I saw a man with no feet. Enjoy the ride !

I got mine here http://www.pbisprockets.com/ Mine is a 40 tooth but they likely have 39 available too. Personally I wouldn't want anything small than 40 tooth and the bike still seems high geared with that. However, I rarely ride on interstates.

The watercooled Thruxtons will fit your T120. You are currently running a 17FT and 37RT sprockets, that gearing is quite high at 2.1764 (37/17).

The Thruxtons run a 16FT and 42RT is a little low for most folks 2.625 (42/16). A lot of T120 owners are going with a 16FT with the stock 37RT a 2.3125. This would be slightly lower gearing than a 17FT and 39RT at 2.294 for better acceleration.

Remember when you talk gearing on the sprockets the higher the number i.e. 2.625 the lower the gearing is on the bike.

There some threads on the 39T rears out there if you still want to go that way..

I put the thruxton 16T front sprocket on. Transformed the bike - just feels "right", as if that's how it should have been all along. Had to lose two links from chain.

I donít agree with changing the front sprocket to a smaller one. There are mathematical formulas to prove and explain why it wears off the sprocket and chain faster, but you donít need that.

After careful thought, I replaced the rear 37T sprocket with a 40T on my T120 / 2017 and Iím uttermost pleased with it. First gear is shorter, which helps a lot in town. It also permits to move the rear wheel a bit more frontwards. Originally, the position is very rearwards and doesnít give much possibilities to correct the chainís tension.

Always replace front and rear sprockets + chain at the same time.

I switched from a 37T rear sprocket to a 39T. Simple change but made a big difference. I like it much better and would recommend it to any T120 owner.

Which is better for slow riding on a T120 on gravel and light trails, stock or 39T?
