This reminds me of when I stopped at a mescal plantation in southern Oaxaca to visit with the owner. The roasted mescal leaves are crushed by a huge stone wheel that is turned by their horse. We asked the owner what his horse's name was and he replied "Caballo".

I decided to be highly original and have named my T120 a "Triumph".

"Merlin" for my 2001 Bonneville and "Griffon" for my 2016 Thruxton S. Have a long standing interest in WWII fighter aircraft, with the Spitfires being particular favorites. Rolls-Royce Merlin engines powered the early and mid marks of the Spitfires and Rolls-Royce Griffon engines powered the later marks.

My GF likes alliteration so she started calling the Triumph Trixie but I liked Trudie better so that's what she's called now, compromise is good. 🙂

My daughters insisted that I give my T120 a name when I bought it a couple of years ago. They've always named their cars and couldn't conceive of just calling it "the Triumph" or "the bike" (which I still do). So it is now called Rocinante after Don Quixote's horse. You know, the broken down nag that he rode that in his eyes was a valiant war steed. No, mines not broken down, but it has been all the steed I've needed since buying it.

Mine is "bike". But it's not as impersonal as it sounds, I call my wife "wife, son "son" and "daughter" daughter. I guess I'm just a literal guy

I had a 2012 Thunderbird which was blue. My daughter called it "Bluey". It was totaled (but I wasn't) and I bought a replacement, "Bluey Two-ey".

Also have a Speed Triple. Following along the same lines, I referred to it as Blackey, which my daughter thinks might be racist.

But really I just call them, "The T-bird" and "The Triple".
