I just fitted a T120 Comfort Seat on my SC, thanks to info found on this sight, and was wondering if anyone has tried the T100 side covers on a ST or SC. I may make a drive up to my local Triumph dealer tomorrow and investigate the possibilities.
The T100 side covers fit perfectly! The silver lettering contrasts well with the silver tank panels and headlight bucket of my SC. The taller side panels also cover the exposed wiring harness when installing the T120 comfort seat, probably do the same for the Street Twin bench seat too.
I've also removed my flyscreen, changed out my SC sprocket cover for a ST unit, and replaced my fuel injection covers with the black pieces from Triumph. I'm quite happy with the results.
Related question: does the T120 Sprocket Cover fit the Street Twin? Or should I say is the OEM replacement Sprocket Cover for the Street Twin the same as the original one on the T120? I like that the replacement unit has a vent hole with some mesh behind it, instead of being one piece.
I also like what the SMC folks did on the Street Twin Flat Track Hooligan on that part, swapping out the original mesh piece with some hexagonal modders mesh, painted black:
All the pics of either the T100 or T120 that I have seen all have the cutout in the cover, either black or silver and made from aluminum. The Street models are plastic, either with or without the alum heel guard. It would seem to me that they are all interchangeable...or at least should be. Can anyone else confirm this?
Pics? Yeah, I'll see if I can take a few and post them here.
So it replaces the plastic stock part with a metal one, that has a cutout and (faux?) mesh behind it.
And it is identical to the part number that the T120 specifies for that sprocket cover, to answer my own question. So yes the parts are interchangeable on ST, SC, SS and T120.
The T100 comes with the cutout version part, but lists the normal non cutout plastic covers as an option:
@MrH I'd also love to see some photos with the T120 comfort seat and T100 side covers in place. I've held off replacing the stock seat on my ST because I hate seeing the gap that exposes the wiring harness under the frame rails. How much did the new side covers cost?
The side panels are $136.99 each, though my local dealer gave me 10% off. They completely cover the exposed wiring harness. One of my favorite bikes I've owned was my '68 TR6 and these covers closely resemble those covers. Along with the T120 Comfort Seat they give the bike a more "substantial" look IMHO.
I received the Moto Trio T100 side covers today and they fit my Street Twin perfectly. The quality is amazing and I received them 8 days after I ordered them.
They really do cover up more of the upper area, hiding the frame and wire harness better than the actual Street Twin covers. They just lack the recessed contouring and are a bit more rounded.
+1 for mototrio side panels. So happy with mine, the matte black matches my tank perfectly.
