Installed the Free Spirit tracker bar conversion on the Thurxton R. Had the kit for over a year, and finally decided to put it on. Install took 3-4 hours. Everything fit like it was supposed to, all the wiring reached, and the longer clutch cable in the kit doesn't rub on the left side headstock wiring bundle.

Went out for about a 30 minute ride, and I really think I'm going to like the difference. The bars are still nice and low, but they are much wider and flat. Tons of leverage. The riding position is still aggressive enough, more streetfighter than cafe now. I'm not sure I like the looks as much as with the clipons, but I'm liking the way it rides.

(Tried to figure out how to upright the pic. Maybe someone else can fix it?)

What did you did you do with your water cooled twin today?

Rode 400 km, an usual plan with my fellow riders to warm up, heading to spring and summer. Forecast announced 44 Fahrenheit minimum, which is the lower thermal border for my gear. Actually there was 37 F, with a thermal sensation of 30.2, so the first 100 km were a challenge, heated grips do the best they could, but knuckles were barely freezing with my Revit Summit 2 gloves.

Anyway the journey was fun, enjoyed a lot with friends, eat a traditional asado (barbecue), and bring back home a lot of stories to remember.

I luv mine. I didn't mind the clip ons for sporty riding, but it wasn't so good on straighter roads. The handlebars work as well in the bends and much better on the straights.
I was just out your way. Got to ride 16 (Back of the Dragon) down to Boone. Then did the Snake in Little Switzerland. Rode 421 into Bristol on the way to Kentucky. I could have sworn they had a tee shirt shop for that one at some point too, but I didn't see one this trip.
Wish I could have ridden Thruxy on those, but Mama and her luggage were along so we took the touring rig. Most of the best tight, technical roads in the country are all packed in a pretty small area there.
