I'm curious to see how many miles everyone has on their Speedmaster. I'm at 6100, its a 2018 that I picked up in January as a leftover. I started riding it around late March. I have to say it has been a joy to ride this bike, with no issues to report. It handles so well, I just wish it had a little more lean angle. I find myself scraping the boards when I get to aggressive in the turns.

I have made lots of changes, and I as I read this forum it looks like it may not be the popular way to go with the Speedmaster. I know the bikes were built with lots of chrome, but I am just not a chrome kind of guy. I probably should have went with the Bobber Black, but the Speedmaster design looks way better in my opinion along with the riding position I like. Rims, floorboards and the rest of the small stuff will be black for the future changes.

Thanks, I did think of that. The bag sits about 2 inch's above the fender. I know you have updated your bike, how about some photos. I always like to see what other owners have done to their rides.

That's the beauty of all the bikes in the Bonneville range, they can be customised to suit anybody's taste.
I love the chrome on the regular speedmaster but yours looks friggin awesome:grin2:

Thanks guys, I do appreciate the kind words. Cafracer, I do agree there are so many ways you can go with the Bonneville line up. Like the photo below, its hard to not like what was done to this Speedmaster, it is very cool. I would love to see more photos of members rides, its very interesting to see how people personalize their bikes.

Really like what you've done to your Speedmaster. We purchased ours new in April and have put on 1193 miles. The auxiliary lights that you've put on yours what is the brand/model? Also I noticed that you've done away with the brake light. Those two tiny lights on the license plate are those the new brake lights?

Stephen,

These are the links to the fog light kit I made. I did not want to spend a whole lot of money on the lights, brackets and switch because I was not sure I would like the look. I have to say they work great and do a good job lighting up the road, they give you a very wide projection. For less than $50, it was definitely worth it, but who knows how long they will hold up, they are made in china.

The rear lights are from Triumph. They are called Multifunction lights. The brake lights are part of the turn signals. Those are just reflectors on the license plate.

Would love to see a couple pics of your multi-function tail lights/turn signals - both on and off.

Also would love to see detail pic of how you mounted the fog lights......

TIA!

That looks much nicer than the Bobber! I just picked up a new 2019 Speedmaster 2 weeks ago. The anti-chrome look that you went for is Hot-Hot-Hot! I am loving the Speedmaster, glad I got it. My very first bike was a '68 Bonneville, & this Bonneville will more than likely be my last bike.
So far this is what I've done to mine. I had to change the forward controls because of my prosthetic leg. I couldn't reach the shift lever comfortably. With the floorboards & heel/toe shift, I'm sitting pretty. The taller handlebars also added to my comfort. Now it's time to find some nice saddlebags.

THANKS! Do like those tail lights - can you use them AND keep the original taillignt?

Can you tell me how you mounted the fog lights? Ok, saw the brackets - didn't know there was space on the forks to mount them......cool....... I want to use them as DRL's .......would wire them to low beam circuit.

Whose front turn signals do you have? They are not stock, correct?

And BTW, bought my Speedmaster on July 1 this year and have 3,000 miles on it. To put that in perspective, I have 3 other classic Triumph's and 2 Harley's that I ride as well.....I probably average a total of 200 miles/week.......will be less now that riding weather is behind us.....

The will fit using the single brake light housing, but you will have a wiring issue. When you order the lights you have to order the wiring kit as the single brake light wiring is different. If your good with wiring, then it might not be an issue. I did not like the single brake light look with amber turn signals.

The fronts are also Triumph multifucntion lights.

nils.d.kavaller, I love the white tank!

Hey guys, I made some more upgrades and put on some more miles. I have the bike a year now and just broke the 8000 mile mark. I changed the bars along with levers and grips and a few bags here and there. I did not feel the stock bars were uncomfortable at all, I just wanted a different look. The bars are Bitwell high tracker bars and I am using Motone up and over risers. The bars were priced right at $80, and very well made I might add. There is one issue with the bars, from the end to the first bend the bar measures 8 inches. It needs to be 8 3/4 inches, otherwise when you tighten clamp, the throttle/brake bracket binds the throttle. My work around was to put extensions on each end. If you have questions feel free to ask.

I also changed the levers with TEC adjustable black ones. They were $60, work great and the quality is top notch. I Changed the stock barrel grips with Triumph's black knurled grips, $40, very nice grips. I took the advise of a forum member and removed the front bag as when riding it would hit the fender and not be good over the long term. I wound up putting another bag on the right side in place of the rear foot peg. Fabricated some brackets and was good to go, great for holding small things. I also added another swing arm bag on the right side.

I sure would like to see more photos and what you guys are doing to your bikes, or are you just happy with the way it is. I'm already thinking of my next upgrades. I would love to go with aluminum wheels, but they are so pricey at $2600 from Canyon Motorcycles. I might just wind up powder coating the wheels, along with some small stuff. Anyway that's my latest updates, there will be more to come.

Thanks, I really just made the change for the look.... but. Now after 500 plus miles and I am very happy I made the change. The stock bars were comfortable, the only issue was when you got aggressive with the throttle. You really had to concentrate on holding the grips properly. I got used to it, so it became a none issue for me. I just wanted a new look, but if anyone is on the fence about changing bars, I would consider it, especially if you like to ride your bike hard. It really changes the dynamic of the bike, it almost feels sports car like now, if I can use that term. Hard accelerations is also breeze, very natural and very much in control, and they are still very comfy for just cruising. I like to shift without backing off the throttle when wide open, It was tricky to do on the stock bars. but now its very natural. I know most just cruise with this type of bike, but I like to push the bike to its limits.

No matter how you ride, I think most will like a bar change.

I spent a fair amount on Alpina rims for my T120. It was worth every $. Bike handles much better. The stock rims are so heavy, they have their own gravitational field!
Did you try the new bars without risers? I would be looking for the bars to cut the reach, not so much for height.

I would love to go with the aluminum wheels, but 2600 is just to much. Maybe if there is enough demand prices would be better. I did not try the bars without the risers. I know It looks like the bars are high, but when you sit on the bike they feel perfect. These are Motone, 1inch high, 1 inch back. The bikes feels very response with these bars, but like I said in my post you will have to do some modification to get them to fit right. Cables and wires are none issues, no need to upgrade them.
