Talking FINALLY! Got my 2018 Speedmaster!

And could not be more pleased! Just had to let everyone know by starting a new thread here as I've been talking about getting one for over a year.

I've been discussing price with our FANTASTIC Triumph dealer in Richmond (cannot recommend more highly) who I've known since she took on the Triumph dealership here years ago, and today was the day. In 55 years of riding, this is my first NEW bike, ever. Bought lots of "like new" bikes, but never new.

When I had my horrible 1959 Harley 165 in 1964, a good friend had a new '64 Bonneville - that he let me ride any time I wanted. And that was my "First Love" - you never forget your first love. That led me into getting into classic Triumph's 10 years ago.

I got a new red 2018 simply because it matches my 1971 Trophy 500 T100C that I love so much and they make a pair now. Wish the sun was hitting the tanks the same so you could see the similarities.

I've only put 60 some miles on the bike but they confirm my hour long test ride a year ago: this beautiful bike does all things well. No, it doesn't excel at anything - but its well-rounded character, performance, abilities, features, strengths, etc. bring me to conclude that it does all things well.

I know of no other bike I can say that about.

I now have 6 bikes in my stable (at one time I had 8): 4 Triumph's (3 early '70's classics as you see below), and 2 Harley's. If I had to get rid of all of them but one - the Bonneville Speedmaster is the one I'd keep.

I could not be more pleased.

Thanks everyone....!!!

This will be my "Go to" bike from now on.......even thinking of selling my old '97 FXDWG Wide Glide I've ridden forever.......don't need 2 cruisers.......while it runs like new (rebuilt motor 13k mis. ago), it's old....problem is I couldn't get much for it......

Thatís a beautiful bike, congratulations. Iíd love to take one on a test ride, but I know Iíd have to have it afterwards. With 4 bikes in the garage now, it would be hard to explain to the wife. And I really donít have the room, or the time for another bike.
But if I did............

I’ve got an empty stall in my barn if you need to lighten your load GN, and I’m right up the road a few hours. Congratulations

I see pictures like these, I get excited and i start hovering around in the garage what can i let go? So i can have some cash on hand and prepare my case to present to her majesty my wife and explain to her the social benefits and how the welfare of the country as a whole will improve due to this necessary expenditure 😛
