Question "Comfort" or "highway foot pegs" on Tiger 800XRX-Low

First of all, I love my 800. This is my first Brit triple, and the wow factor is off the charts. I use the bike exclusively on pavement.

On the longer highway rides, I would like to open up my knee angles a bit. All I want to do is move my feet forward about about 15 -18 inches.

I have the factory engine guards. But with the peculiar angles and structure, this is turning into a project and a half-especially on the left side.

Has anyone tried to solve this problem?

Do I need to form my own support group?
Best,
Howard

Thumbs up

Checkout www.advdesigns.com. A bit pricey, but they're the best highway pegs available.

DIY Highway Peg Adapter

Here is how I solved the weird angles of the engine guards to mount highway pegs.

3/4 x 3/4 inch square aluminum tube with 1/8 inch wall. Drill holes at the ends 90 degrees to each other.
Use grade 8 bolts to really torque the clamps down so they will not rotate. Also use nylon lock nuts.

Here is a picture of my setup. I have use this setup for the last six years.

I went with a bar across the bike for stability, then a short drop down like Abbotson for comfort:

I just bought a 2018 Tiger 1200 XCA. I also feel the need to stretch my legs out.

I love the ingenuity of the above two pictures and designes. I now have something else I can spend time with tinkering on the new bike.

Thanks for the ideas and more importantly the pictures.
