Succesion of trouble

Hi Guys, thought I would post this up, ..after my `10 T`bird stranding me for the second time a week ago, plus a fews CEL`s since it ran out of warranty 7 months ago, plus other troubles, such as MAP sensoer pipes and a duff R/R ( all rectified free of charge by my most excellent dealer ) this latest problem ( bike would not fire up, no CEL, but left a while it would fire up) has turned out to be a faulty ECU !! I was informed today..which when they swapped it out threw up a faulty MAP sensor, so with the Dealership in my corner they have persuaded Triumph to replace it under warranty and the MAP sensor...
I cannot thank my Deater enough...so just wanted to warn you guys out there that it seems as if these ECU`s do go wrong, and I sincerly hope that it is mine only that goes **** up..I wont name the dealer , but my location might give that away ;-)..

Alan

It seems like the dealers in the UK are more apt to work with you and settle your problems then the ones in the states. Good job, it sounds like it could have cost you a bundle.

It is good to hear that Triumph is making good on this repair for you under the warranty. I have about 10 months left on my warranty, and every time I read about stuff like this it makes me consider extending it another 2 years. Considering I financed the bike, and will still be making payments it seems like the smart thing to do.

ECUs go bad on all bikes and cars. I have seen it on Harleys several times. It is usually preceded by issues that make you crazy then sudden death of the whole unit.
