Don't worry fill out the form and Triumph will set it up. All you do is show up and ride.

so wait you want to ride a 1700 but a gloss not a matte and they dont have one so you dont wanna ride the matte??? im missing something here. and a lot of dealerships dont allow test rides unless you complete paperwork since people tend to wreck bikes after claiming they were experts.

I am willing to ride either the Storm (any color) and/or the original 1600. But one dealer had the matte Storm and said he couldn't do it. The second dealer didn't have a Storm and also refused to oblige on the one 1600 he had. I don't know how dealers think, but I imagine if a guy walked into a showroom knowing what he wanted and got all the specifics about pricing, payments plan and accessories, he'd be considered a serious buyer.

When I went to look at the thunderbird they talked to me about the bike for 10 min then offered a test ride wich at first I declined because I didnt have my helmet/jacket or gloves in my truck. They professionally persisted by offering me the use of the nessasary gear and explaining they have to put so many miles on the bike anyway and they would actually like my feedback on it being I am a long time rider. It worked! Within 5 miles on the storm I knew I wanted a thunderbird with the 1700 kit installed and after returning from the compleete test ride they suggested wich was way more miles than anyone has ever recomended before and covered some of my favorite roads in that area, I realised the test ride is probably the most important thing they can do to sell a bike as it moved my planned purchase time frame forward by at least 8 months and gave me the ability to compare it fairly to the other bikes I was eyeballing. Within 2 weeks of it I purchased my Silver/black 1700!

I couldn't get a test ride no matter who I called or wrote to or bribed. No dealer was going to risk their very few sale bikes on a test ride and no Triumph truck to be found within 300 miles at the time. Screw it, found the bike I wanted in Baltimore, drove up, paid for it and rode it home. So far love it, sometimes you just gotta throw caution to the wind.

Daycruiser, did you fill out a test ride request from the main web site and/or called their headquarters in Atlanta to figure out how they expect someone to buy their bike without taking a test ride...?

Honestly if wasnt for the test ride on the thunderbird I probably would have ended up with a Victory or some used bike instead. The cost of a new bike these days demands that you get a real test ride before sealing the deal. No way am I going to drop that kind of cash without test rideing it first!

Having the test ride offered so quickly without hassel was instramental for them getting the sale much sooner and left them with very little chance of loosing it to a lesser bike that I was able to test ride (in this case the HD and Victory) and getting a real test ride on the HD wasnt easy and almost had me walking out the door and crossing them off the list before my search for a new ride even began.

Yes I did all that, even followed the truck around a little but they were so booked it wasn't going to happen. Not everybody that signs up for a "test ride" is at all interested in buying one. Many I watched were HD owners checking out the competition. They send out your contact info to the dealers in your area to see if a dealer can accommodate you with a test ride, what they really do is call you to see if your ready to buy. "Sorry no we don't have a demo bike right now, but you'll love it anyway so come on down and see what we have and make an offer". How many times did I hear that. Getting a demo for HD was EASY, I could have ridden an HD all day, only problem is I dislike HD and don't care to ever own one. I like Victory and could have gotten a demo ride on a XRoads no problem. Price was the issue with Victory, If I'm not willing to pay the price I'm not going to bother ridding it. Just wasting everybody's time then. So, the specs of the TBird met my expectations and I liked what I did see with close inspection of floor bikes and then shopped a 400 mile radius and bought the one I liked at the best price I could get in that radius. As I said, love it so far. If that changes it's gone and on to the next one.
