New Look

Look Ma, no badges!

I'll post more pics once I get the new badges on.

Why did you remove them? I like mine, proud to ride a Triumph.

I'm in the process of replacing them with different badges. I thought as long as the old ones were off the bike, that a few folks might like to see what a Tbird looks like without tank badges. Not bad I think.

BADGES! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES!

I personaly like the badges on a Triumph. But the badge does not make the bike.

I'm so torn about the de-badge option... I love the clean, no BS look.

Heck, I don't even wear t-shirts with logos cuz I hate badges ...

BUT I also love the comments from old timers when they see that Triumph name on my ride, and their eyes light up and they just have say something.

Almost every day I get elderly gents come up to me in parking lots with stories about a Triumph they had as a kid, or in the war, and they are just in awe at the Thunderbird.

I'd hate to remove a logo and rob them of that joy ... and miss sharing it with them.

And to tell the truth, it kinda makes me proud to ride that kind of history.

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

I like the look of the stock badges. I've seen more than one Thunderbird online with different badges, but I have yet to see one that looks as good as the original. Typically it seems that people are putting larger badges on from other Triumph models, and while they don't look bad, they just don't have the more subtle look of stock badge. To each his own I guess. Maybe I'm just too lazy and/or cheap to mess with mine.

I will be putting my stock badges back on eventually. The replacement badge idea didn't work out so well.

I am looking at using the tank decals from a 675 on my SE. I am talking with a bike painter on what color choices will go best with carnival red.

Hell yeah, put some Harley Davidson logos or badges on there! That should stir up a hornets nest!
