Our Battery Model?

I need a new one and am too lazy to drive to my storage area, pop off the seat and find the model #. Anyone have it handy?

I'm definitely going to do a Scorpion battery - put one in my 1000cc sport bike and its been really strong for two years. This is the model batterystuff.com thinks is right for the tbird:

BTW, Batterystuff has a nice sale on till tomorrow - I'm picking up a tender JR too, pretty cheap at $22 and free shipping over $89. Merry xmas to me!

That sounds about right. If you're unsure, check the OM.It should list the correct battery number.I just checked my OM and it says:YTX20LBS,which is a 12 Volt,18 Amp Hour battery.Dave!!!

Which would be this... http://www.amazon.com/Yuasa-Maintenance-Free-Battery-YTX20L-BS/dp/B000WK2CR2
Speaking of batteries, anyone have a suggestion as to a notably superior one to this that wouldn't cost a lot more?

Probably any of the better quality AGM batteries will deliver better performance. I think there is a slight trade-off on duty cycle but don't remember for sure. The AGM's seem to work well in power craft and cycles and cost about the same as a name brand acid flooded battery like your OEM.

Replaced mine with an Exide from the local farm supply store for $59. The original Yuasa lasted less than a year, already have longer than that on the Exide and no problems..good price as well!

Thanks for the replies.

I'm a believer in the Scorpions. My Yuasa lasted only a year too, but this Scorpion is so strong it fires in under a second on my z1000 - and thats a bit of motor to get going. It just has the kind of current where you hit the button and you hear no struggling from the starter motor. I'll try and remember to post back next year on how it works in the Tbird.

Wow, one year for some of you is nuts ! I'm at almost 2.5 years and mine still works. However, i have been having issues lately when starting. Not with getting it started, but idling once it has started. I have to give it some throttle. I tried setting the thing in tuneecu that sets the stepper motor and tps but none of that worked. Wonder if it's my time, which is why i asked about alternatives to the stock battery.By the way, ebay has batteries with the same number but without the Yuasa logo and say they are for other bikes like yamaha. i wonder if thats the exact same battery or could the number refer to the specs but not the physical size and therefore they might not fit?
