Rider backrest question

I bought a 2011 Tbird with a rider backrest. I didn't ask the dealer how to take it off. I can't figure out how to take it off and I don't want to force anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Dang! I'd love a rider backrest.

I'd be happy to dispose of it properly for ya

If I remember correctly from seeing something in a post somewhere, you take the seat off and there's a couple of bolts under there that you remove. I'm not sure though.

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

You'll also need the plug to replace the hole left by the bracket holding the backrest.

I'm just taking the seat off to send it to MeanCity Cycles for some memory foam. They did it to my Road King Classic seat a few years ago and they did a great job. I've just never taken the seat off the TBird before with the rider backrest on.

Thumbs up Seats come off without touching the backrest...

One bolt at the back of the pillion, 2 bolts, one on each side at the back of the driver's seat and they both lift at the back and then lift towards the back of the bike and they come right off... No need to remove the backrest...
